It should be OSU, LSU and OSU will get bitch slapped all over the field by an SEC team for the second straight year. It pains me to think us blowing the BC game probably cost us a national championship appearance.
Son of a bitch I can't believe what I just witnessed. Unbelievable. The Jets are next tomorrow. Good lord please let them win atleast.
I think it should be Hawaii in the National Championship -- it won't happen, because the BCS wouldn't allow it, but Hawaii is the only undefeated team and they can score at will...on anyone. I don't want to see an SEC team in the championship...UGA and LSU both have two losses and they don't deserve it.
That's exactly it.... how can anybody justify them playing? Because they have the tradition? It's BS, look at their schedule. The best team they played beat them. And Illinois isn't a top 10 team. I'd say LSU and Virginia Tech both deserve to play over Ohio State.
Let's not dismiss Kansas. I would be captivated by a Hawaii-Kansas title game, that would hysterical. too bad it'll never happen.
Enough of calling OSU overrated talk they lost only 1 game, and truly there is no worthy #1 team this year, everybody loves to bring up LSU but giving up 300+ rushing yards in the most important game prior to today doesn't say much at all. Their redzone defense is just good enough to be terrible.
Don't know if this was said, but imagine LSU - the SEC champion - getting snubbed by Georgia for the national title game. Ha. Also, why does the BCS continue to help the teams who don't play in conference championship games. I'm looking at you Ohio State. Get ready to get smashed. Again. Why can't we just have all the conference champions play in a elimination tournament. West Virginia. Oklahoma. USC. Ohio State. LSU. And Hawaii for its outstanding season. Too easy? I'm sure Kansas, Florida and Georgia deserve mention too. Who knows. The postseason will suck as long as outdated bowl games exist.
Virginia Tech is in a conference that is nearly as weak as the Big Ten this year and got beat at home by their toughest competition while getting killed by LSU, another reason to say basically no one is good enough to be considered worthy of the title game.
Explain why they shouldn't be called overrated? Because they beat Kent St? Youngstown St? Akron? The best team they played was Illinois and they beat Ohio St in Columbus and they are ranked 15th in BCS. If it's not Ohio State with that schedule there is no way that team is ranked 3rd. MSU you and I usually are on the same but we are in different continents with Ohio State.
Every team in discussion right now including plenty of teams not in discussion would be undefeated with that schedule. With that said I hope they lose just to expose them as frauds.
This is a good point and is another reason there should be some sort of playoff. I'm for the 6 BCS conference winners and 2 at-large teams (those two can be from the BCS conferences) in an 8-team playoff.
Consider this. If Ohio State were forced to play in a Big 10 championship game against, say, Illinois, they would be exposed just like Missouri was for the second time against Oklahoma. OSU will play in title game because of good timing and benefiiting from a conference without a title game.
this is fun. If it were up to me, I'd make it Ohio State vs. LSU. I think they've had the most impressive seasons. Too bad Oklahoma lost to Texas Tech two weeks ago.
they won at Penn State and at Michigan, and blew out Wisconsin. That's enough for me to justify putting them in ahead of Va. Tech. I also don't think Illinois was the best team they played.
Lets be honest say Indiana starts the season unranked without Ohio State on their schedule and they beat Youngstown St, Akron, Washington, Kent St (oh BTW the Kent coach openly admitted he didn't play his best players) Purdue, Michigan, Wisconsin but lost to Illinois there would be no way they would be ranked 3rd going into today. Why? Because they weren't good in 1967 that's why. Oh and Penn St, Michigan and Wisconsin are all really good teams. So good that UNLV outplayed Wisconsin and only lost because of one bad possesion. So good that Michigan lost to App St, so good that Penn State finished 5th in the conference. Don't give me that these are quality teams. Quality in name only but on the field mediocre.
I am not saying they shouldn't be called overrated, what I am saying is that they have fucked up the least when plenty of teams have found a way to choke like dogs in plenty of ways. With everything said about how OSU are frauds, the rest of their competition have gone the extra mile to show their fraudulence. OSU is point blank the prettiest of a group of ugly girls. The only game that may make sense is is OSU vs. Va Tech because while you bring up OSU losing to Illinois (who by the way is going to a BCS game most likely), LSU lost to a team that had no quarterback at home in the weakest fashion you could get, while at least VT's fuck ups were a long time ago.
There's no way in hell I'm putting Virginia Tech ahead of LSU considering what LSU did to the Hokies.
