Anderson won't be available. It is the Browns number one priority to get him signed to a long term contract.

If the Browns make the playoffs he won't be....actually even if they don't he will still not be available because Brady needs some competition in there

    Derek Anderson-QB - Browns Nov. 15 - 7:22 pm et

NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports the Browns could slap the franchise tag on impending restricted free agent Derek Anderson after the season.

Apparently, you still can do this, although it has not been done since 1999 when Terrell Owens was a restricted free agent after three years with San Francisco. The natural assumption was that Anderson would be tendered highly with the first- and third-round tags, but the franchise tender brings back two first-round choices if another team signs Anderson to an offer sheet.

what do these teams have in common??

    ravens
    cowboys
    steelers

yes besides being at least in the top half of the league in defense over the last few years they also were.....

the 1st 3 opponents for KC in his early career; hardly a walk in the park.

we will NOT be seeing substantial improvement until the second half of next year HOWEVER it behooves the jets to keep the offensive staff intact into next year to provide stability for the young man.

IMO - the jets will have 2 or 3 new starters on the OL next year. RT, LG and quite possibly RG - though moores recent extension gives him the nod, for now.

the best thing i would say is sign a veteran for the LG spot and go with a high drafted rookie at the RT spot - i mean day one folks NOT a day 2 pick.

Could the reason we are not seeing Bender be because they are grooming him to be Clements replacement ?

If so than it becomes far easier to fix the line by replacing the LG position...

    Day 1 could be....

    1. Chris Long to play LOLB....

    2. Frank Okam inside.

    3. Decent Guard/Tackle prospect... (330+)

(Plus any picks netted from trading Pennington/or Vilma..)

Clemens played against the Ravens, Cowboys, Redskins and Steelers! What the h**l do people expect him to do? He beat one of the better teams in Football and Kept us within two dropped passes of beating the other two. THE COWBOYS ARE ONE OF THE TOP FIVE TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE! WE ARE REBUILDING AND THIS IS GOING TO TAKE YEARS! NOT A GAME OR TWO FOR HIM TO THROW FOR 300 YARDS EVERY DAY!

I was impressed with his play against the Steelers. The Cowboys and Ravens do have solid defenses but they both can be passed on. The Cowboys give up 21 points a game, we scored three. The Ravens were shredded yesterday by Philip Rivers who couldn't buy a TD pass in his past few games so I think they are getting by on reputation this year more than actually playing the type of D they usually do.

It's way too early to judge but I want to see more out Clemens down the stretch than what he has shown so far. Particularly next week aginst the Dolphins and at home against the Browns. Those are two defense he should have some success against. My main concern with him so far is he seems to be inaccurate on some throws. I think he holds the ball too long also but I think that is something that will improve with experience as the game slows down to him and he can make quicker reads.

I think the Ravens were not as bad Defensively when we first played them as they are now. That Team is falling apart now. I do agree the Cowboys Secondary is not good at all but with our O-line and Coles out Clemens really didn't have a chance on Turkey day. I do wish we would have scored more but the Cowboys are 10-1 for a reason. I also think that Brad Smith is not a Wr and they need to let Wallace Wright play. I also agree with you regarding the fact that he does hold the ball to long but that will change with play as well. With the exception of the Patriots I think he should get a chance to show what he can do. We play mediocre teams fighting for the playoffs but not great ones. Im just happy that he kept us in three of the four games he played in. At this stage in the game im happy with that.

24 year old pro bowl Qbs don't change teams very often, I wouldn't expect that to change with Anderson.

On Sirius, they have said that some teams may consider trying to sign Anderson even with the franchise tag, and give up two first round picks. I think he is good, but they have huge receivers and their offensive line is awesome.

How about we get Braylon Edwards or Kellen Winslow Jr for Clemens to throw too!
