stick revis on owens wherever he lines up. give him help when you can. knock owens block off whenever he catches the ball. as for witten, just try to keep him underneath. some imaginative blitz schemes might keep him at home blocking.
Phillips is 3-5 in his career against the Jets, including a 2-4 mark compiled while with Buffalo from 1998 through 2000. The Jets' Mangini will be meeting both Phillips and the Cowboys for the first time as a head coach.
Don’t burn down the Christmas tree dude! The jets beat the number one defense in the NFL; that by itself is something to write home about. Adding the haven’t allowed a runner over 100 yards since 2005 that’s a milestone. We hung in there and won a game the way we did last year. I don’t find a stretch that the Jets could come out winners tomorrow. A win builds confidence and confidence give teams the tool they need to win. Clemens will get a better feel of what he can get away with in a game and we WILL excel.
Maybe, except Romo is better on the run than in the pocket. Most of his big plays this year have come when he's had to run around a bit.
flushing a QB out of the pocket is completely different then the pocket collapsing on him....See Pittsburgh vs Jets game last week to fully comprehend
Roethlisburger is not nearly as mobile as Romo, and the Steelers line isn't as good or big as the Cowboys line. If people are expecting the Jets defense to do to the Cowboys what they did to the Steelers, they're in for a pretty unhappy holiday.
Hey does anyone know if the Jets are going to wear throwbacks for this game? I've been waiting for the Jets to play thanksgiving forever because I want to see them wear the green helmets again and usually thanksgiving games they have throwback jerseys.
I'd love to put Revis AND Rhodes on TO but with Witten in there I'd prefer to see Rhodes covering that guy.
in case you havent noticed, Romo is also much smaller then Big Ben....which means if Romo was in Roethelisberger's place last sunday, the Jets would have had about 10 sacks
I say Tony Romo throws for seven touchdowns in the first half; three minutes to go in the third quarter, he tucks the ball and rushes for a touchdown, but never pauses in the end zone. He runs right out the back of the stadium to a burning car in the parking lot where he dives through the back window and saves three puppies from burning to death. Phillips goes to his backup quarterback with the game already in the bag and Romo spends the fourth quarter resolving world hunger, the immigration issues facing the US and balances the federal budget. With all of this solved and approaching the two minute warning with three time outs, he decides to take on US race relations where he flaunts his last bit of magic for the day by having blacks and whites hugging in the streets from coast to coast. After the game – to wind down and relax; Tony cooks a thanksgiving day feast for the entire stadium, bangs 58 supermodels on the 50 yard line and then and only then retires for the night.
Jets need the run the ball effectively. If they fail, it's game over early. They need to figure out how to stop Barber, he is the superior back, and a tough SOB. They need to stop Witten...he is huge inside the 20. I would worry about him in the red zone more than T.O. Also, T.O. does not protect the ball well, so when he has it, they should try to put a helmet on the ball, or punch at it. He is a great player, but he can be rattled...if he drops a pass or two, and gets one knocked out of his hands for a fumble, he will be rattled and less effective. If I were the jets, I wouldn't play a lot of zone....TO and Witten can carve up zone coverage. Don't try chasing Romo around, just contain him and make him throw, clog the throwing lanes and, damn it, tell your linemen to get their damn hands in the air when the ball is released! The linemen have to protect the lanes and clog them more than put pressure on Romo, Romo is too good when he's scampering around, you don't gain much by flushing him out of the pocket.....better to get in his face and tip the ball if you can.
The Jets are coming off a win on Sunday, so they [should] have that special momentum on their side leading into tomorrows game. I don't know if they will win it, but my gut feeling is telling me it's going to be a good game. I hope the Jets defense can come up just as big as they did against the Steelers just a few days ago. It's going to hard to contain T.O. though. The defense needs to be playing man to man in my opinion. No zone tomorrow, unless it's really tight. The Jets can't afford to have T.O. and Witten open throughout the game. The defense needs to have a great game. Kellen and the offense will take care of themselves. Also, I hope they can get to that pretty boy Romo and sack him a few times like they got to Roethlisberger. Score Prediction Jets- 27 Cowboys- 24 *Jets pull the upset because of late game mistakes by the Dallas defense* Whether we win or lose, I'm just happy that the Jets have a game on Thanksgiving. Tomorrow should be great. Turkey and all the other goodies and just relaxing, watching the Jets game. Ah, I can't wait until tomorrow!
Romo sucks...blah blah blah........We've gotta play DEFENSE...if we do, JETS WIN....Clemence OR CHAD will WIN
That makes much more sense. Getting Romo to run around isn't the best plan. For the record, I'm not even that big a Romo fan. I've started to come around on him, but I don't like him nearly as much as most Cowboy fans.
In case you haven't noticed, Romo is also more mobile than Roethelisberger so he can get away more easily. Plus the Dallas line is better than the Pittsburgh line. So I think it would be significantly less than 10 sacks. In fact, Romo's only been sacked 13 times on the season to Roethelisberger's 30. So I think it's safe to say that Romo would have been sacked far less often than Roethelisberger.
NFL.com has a poll that asks which qb will have the best day on TG. Kellen was absent from the list... All I gotta say is, those F'ing giant fans are running the thing
