Why? How many teams have tried something unusual, like 7 or 8 DB's and 3 LB's or walking a LB out next to the corner, and treating Moss like the gunner on a ST play....? The NFL in it's infinite wisdom, and directly to the detriment of the Pats, decided to tilt the playing field in favor of the offense, after Manning and the Colts got manhandled by the Pats several years back... You cant blame them for pushing it to the next logical level.
I don't know what the big deal is. If it were the Jets on the Pats (checks into fantasy land) and we were pounding them , would anyone say hey thats classless they're beat? I would want to see the Jets totally dominate and show the rest of the league where the bench mark is , the Pats are doing that. Wait until we play them at Foxboro , boy , we could see the biggest score yet.
IMO, which has little weight around here...:lol: , it CANNOT be running up the score if you're not even in the 4th quarter. As long as you are still in the first 3 quarters, you should be playing hard. There are some people who think that the Pats scoring at halftime was running up the score....HALFTIME!!!:lol: How absurd is that? Second, you can't ask your players to stop playing. You can take out the starters, but the guys in there are expected to play as hard as they can... The Pats pulled Maroney after the first and put in our second, then our 3rd string RB. With the exception of the Indy game, Brady has been getting lifted after the last drive in the third, he is only playing 3 quarters a game. Hey, if the opposing team can't stop the second and third stringers....it's not running up the score...I don't care what the playcalling is. Third, who cares? These are professional players. Grow up, grow some, and do your best to stop it. If you get beat, you get beat. As long as you did your best, you suck it up and move on. Would it be "more respectful" if the Pats started taking knees in the entire fourth quarter and not try to get first downs? I mean, how disrespectful would that be?

You wanna run up the score w/ absolutely no attempt to show the slightest bit of respect to an inferior opponent? Go right ahead! You wanna use every source imagineable to cheat and get edge, and than use the "no respect" ploy when you get caught? Go right ahead! - You wanna claim you're a team of class and high character yet bring in hacks like Randy moss, Corey Dillon, and Rodney Harrison? Who's gonna stop you.. I can honestly say I dont fear the Jets-Patriots game...whether they are running up the score every game or not, I think the Jets have a legit chance to make a game of this in week 15, just because of the history, familiarity, and of course, the bitter rivalry... call me crazy, see if I care
Hehe, I was living near Baltimore in 2002 or 03 when the 'design team' for the Ravens ripped off the shield design logo the Ravens used to use on their helmet and merch from a local business and when they got sued, Modell's refused to pull the stuff with the shield logo from their shelves for a couple of months even though it was a black eye and the logo was a ripoff. Art Modell is a dickhead.
