ah, I'm kidding, but it's nice to see some upbeat posts in here. Been a long time coming.

although... if the Jets do run the table, the way the AFC is shaking out...

    ah never mind.

    but, you know....

If the Jets run the table then they've established something for next season, given it'll take defense of the type we saw yesterday to make that happen.

I'd be very happy to see the Jets at 8-8 with a full complement of draft picks next season and a sniping shot in free agency. The Pats have shot their wad there and won't be spending the same way next season.

There are lots of people who'd prefer the team to keep losing for a higher draft pick. I'll always take a win because the draft is just a roll of the dice.

Running the table and making the playoffs at 8-8? I think that would top everything I've seen as a Jets fan!

If you run the table you'll be 8-8 and just short of the playoffs while at the same time killing all hopes of landing McFadden/Long.

But there are no guarantees in the draft. I'll take my pleasure watching wins rather than cheering for a high draft pick - and bitter experience backs me up on this as well. I remember Bleah Thomas!

I'll take that. It's much harder to get back up from 3-13 than it is to build on 8-8.

And I'd much rather have a big body for one of the lines out of the 16 pick than McFadden out of the 3 or 4.

Aye, who thought Leinart would drop off the charts?

I was going to say its retarded to want to lose every game because you want a higher draft pick , but that would be wrong , because in a perverse way losing is good for the long term team.
But wake up! If you keep thinking like that ...every year will be the same until we win the SB. Even then.....

We're not running anything without Coles. He is our offensive MVP by far and the heart and soul of this team

I could care less about draft position. Drafting in the top 5 is not where you want to be. Every draft pick has a decent chance of being a bust. When that player gets a bonus in the 10 to 15 million range it makes the pick that much riskier. It also hurts your cap big time. You can get a player at 15 who may be just as good as the player taken 4 who gets a third of the money.

I know the age-old sentiment for "wanting to lose" so we can improve our draft position, but be careful what you guys wish for.

More important than moving up a few spots on the draft is building something that the team can take into the offseason and come back in August and feel good about and add on to.

Finishing at 4-12, for example, isn't worth the extra draft spots, IMO, when you're developing a losing mentality with little to look forward to and a million holes and problems to resolve for next year. It means players returning to camp knowing they're losers and not believing in themselves or their teamates. On the surface, it looks like something you'd like to see happen (going 2-14 for the draft pickes), but the reality is, it really has a crippling effect on the team for a couple of seasons to come.

I'd much rather finish up 8-8 or 7-9 (even 6-10) than move up several spots in an unpredictable draft with unpredictable picks, most of whom won't be really ready to contribute for several years.

more than even the draft is free agents. A good player is much more apt to sign with a team on the rise, than one at the bottom of the pile.

If we lose six more games, we lose more than just those games...Mandumbnuts loses the locker room.

I'll take 6 - 10 at this point and be happy with it.

Don't forget - GB truly turned it around last year in a season just like this. They finished up with 4 wins and rode the momentum into this season.

I'd just like to see the Jets go at least 3-3 in their last six games which would give them a winning record after the bye.

Just beat the Patriots, that's all I'm asking. Someone has to do it and who better than the Jets to end their streak.

the way I see it, there is only one poster in this thread saying that draft picks are more important then wins. Typical Miami fan. Hows your season going? Any signs of life at all???!!! Thought so.
