I'm not saying it would work, I'm just saying that can be the only reason. That's silly money to spend like that. He's surely not worth that much.
I agree with you especially because of his age. The Yanks will just end up in the same situation they are in now with Mussina, Giambi, Damon. Just add Posada, Mo and Lowell to that list in a couple of years.
4 years @ 60 million for a guy that is gonna be in his mid 30's on opening day. It doesn't matter who is running the Yankees they continue with the same formula that has seen them not win a WS in 7 years. Then the fans wonder why they don't win? As far as a relacement for Lowell my guess is Jed Lowrie will be converted to play 3rd but he is very young only 23 but Pedrioa and Ellsbury seemed to fit in nicely for the Sox. Face it the Sox are getting younger and winning WS with young kids and solid vets yet the Yankees are losing and following the same formula of failure. The Yankees make me sick with every stupid move that franchise makes it brings that shitty city in New England closer to another title. You know why the Red Sox won't blow a load on Lowell? Because they are smarter than you guys and it shows with every stupid move your franchise makes. Keep spending because it ain't working......
dude you sound like a moron. "the same formula that hasnt won a world series in 7 years" oh my god 7 years....plus 2 appearances in the series in those 7 years...like I said in the other thread....worry about the Mets......who like to sign their share of free agents also in case you havent noticed
I saw it.... Listening to Mike & the Mad Dog.... Mad Dog is mocking the move.... Torrealba stinks!!! Plus the most important thing in Metland is building a team of substandard latin guys
I'm not sure if they want to hear about the other rumor I heard today. It involves Johan Santana but it costs them a lot
well, the rumor is...and take it for what it's worth. I heard it from the same person who told me about the Lowell rumor who does have insider connections. Joba Chamberlin, Philip Hughes and either Robinson Cano or Melky Cabrera for Johan Santana.
I'd tell the Twins to shove that up their asses, turn it sideways, and then pull on it. No one, I repeat no one, is worth that price. ARod or no Arod, I would disavow the Yankees forever if they make that trade.
Seems like a lot but that's the rumor...of course if Melky is part of the deal look for the Yankees to make a huge push for Hunter.
I don't know why they would trade both Hughes and Joba for Santana. Both have proven they can pitch at the major league level. Both have potential to be dominant for years. Trading two for one makes no sense at all.
