Haha..how about this. He is the first winner of the clutch player of the year award for all of MLB. http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/fan_forum/pepsi/2007/clutch_year.jsp
I admit I was pissed when A-Rod opted out. My thoughts on him turned completely. However, if he comes back I will be more than happy. He is Alex Rodriguez. The right thing for him to do would be to try to win in New York. For him to try to rekindle the fire, I find that impressive. If it happens, I will be happy with it, again, he is Alex Rodriguez.
Yeah, it's amazing how people can't realize just how good a player he is. Dayne Perry compared him to the modern day Babe Ruth. People just don't get it.
A bunch of guys who didn't make the playoffs. Papelbon is more clutch, Holiday is more clutch, & anyone else who got a GW hit in the playoffs or on the way to the playoffs like the entire Rockies team is more clutch than A-rod.
if the rest of the team starts showing up in the playoffs im sure arod will come around. for the millionth time, our failures in the postseason are not soley arods fault.
That there folks is what is known as an oxy moron. Maybe it's just me but if the Yankees were the best team over the past decade wouldn't you think they would have won one in the last 7 years? The best team in this decade up until now are the Red Sox. They are afterall the only team in this decaded to win TWO World Series Championships.
IDK....he has left a lot of guys on base. Also I don't totally blame A-rod, because pitching has been horrible also. But to give this guy a HUGE contract for consistently choking in crunch time....is beyond me. Especially the way it played out towards the end.
Congratulations Yankee fans on the A-Rod signing!! I know most of you wanted him back. For my part, I am very happy the Sox did not sign him, so I guess this is a happy ending for all but Boras. I look forward to rooting against him for the next several years, and watching him let everyone down in the playoffs again...hmy: :breakdance: :rofl2:
i think don meant decade as in the past 10 years. in which case the yankees have won 3 to the red sox 2. woohoo.
thats the thing though. this year he was AMAZING in crunch time....except for the 5 playoff games. if you dont want the best player in baseball back because he wasnt "clutch" in 5 games, you're just silly.
Except now we have young, very talented pitching, which everyone who actually knows a thing or two about baseball knows is the thing that wins championships. All these resignings do is assure that we actually make it over the 1000 runs watermark this year if everyone stays healthy.
go to the link for the pepsi thing and read the last 3 sentences about arod. i guarantee it will change your mind or your money back.
