Yeah well this year, we've lost every game that hasn't been against a winless team, so that probably doesn't play a factor.
It's Curtis Martin Day! Gotta be there! I hope they retire his jersey, but I feel like they probably won't do it until he's in the HoF
I'll be there...with 3 Steelers fans. And we'll be meeting up with more Steelers fans in the parking lot. Too bad what few Jet fan friends I have anymore have crapped-out on me. It looks like the Jets have too many fair weather fans. In fact, I expect next Sunday to look like a Steelers home game at Giants Stadium instead of Heinz Field. I also expect to see many, many gold Terrible Towels waving. Pass the damn Ketchup.
Yeah this is gonna suck. In my experience the steelers fans are always the best at coming to away games, and there will be no shortage of tickets for sale.
Who's going to the game next week? I think it's more like 'who isn't'. Er, 60,000 plus...? I'll be there. Sigh. You'd think after being shocked on the electric fence that is the Jets for all these years I would have learned my lesson by now. Not. Which reminds me of something. I haven't been to my parents' gravesite since August of '05. I stuck a cool little Jets flag there in '97, Sap Girl that I am. I'm not a cemetery person, but I loved my Daddy something fierce and I hadn't been there for at least 5 yrs prior. Anyway, when I was there in August of '05, it was gone. Somebody filched it. Or burned it in effigy. Hehe.
They should have done it at the Home Opener. They'll probably give him something cheesy. No surprises there if so. I will never understand Jets fans ripping him. He was a great Jet, and I'm sticking by it. All the dissection about what DOESN'T make him 'great', who cares. I would have loved to see Curtis Martin suited up and trot the length of the field by his lonesome for the fans. It would have been awesome. I'm sure I would have bawled like a baby. Anyway, here's to 1,697. EDIT: On second thought, I wouldn't doubt that his Lloyd's suit has something to do with that.
I totally agree. When they announced they were doing Curtis day against the Steelers, I was like why? The home opener was the perfect chance, we were going to be losing to the Pats and it would have gotten the crowd back into the game. Perfect timing
And here's to 1,697 amongst other things as well. "We were going to be losing to the Pats", that was just supposition that turned out to be correct. You can't think that way. If we beat the Patriots in NE this year, it will almost make the debacle of 2007 worth it in my eyes.
Yankees, Jets, Rangers, and Knicks fan I'll be going to the game December 2, when they play the sorry dolphins here in Miami. That day the Jets will be having fish sticks for lunch. Since the Jets aren't doing to good, there are 3 things I'm looking forward to this football season, Watching the Jets beat the crap out of the Dolphins, seeing the pats get a loss, and witnessing the Dolphins go winless this football season.
Have Jason Taylor sign your Dolphins T-shirt that you found in the garbage - and then wipe your butt with it. Waste not, want not, you know.
I had thought the Jets would be losing. Obviously, I hope differently. I'm also convinced that the return wouldnt have happened if it was Curtis Day.
Lets see.. Curtis Martin Day Kellen Clemens Mudslides, cold beer 45 degrees and sunny Leon Washington 4 hour turkey and stuffing tailgate 1:00 games on Direct TV Johnny Cash Season tix You think another losing season is going to keep Elvis away???? Elvis will be in the building......
