Hey Murrell2878, why is Adrian Murrell your favourite player?

I'm not having a dig - I liked him and I remember when he scored that TD against the Lions in the 1997 finale I thought the Jets were headed to the playoffs.

I just wondered what made him stand out in your eyes.

Yeah, just like that masterful move of signing Andre Wadsworth, I think we got at least 8 feel-good puff pieces out of that dude before we cut him.

My username is a tribute to Adrian Murrell who is often nothing more than an after-thought. Bill Parcells said when he joined the Jets that other than Martin the only other AFC running back he wanted on his team was Adrian Murrell who was the only shining star for our woeful Jets

read this article...it brings pure joy to me!!

If you sign somebody off somebody's practice squad, they go on the regular roster, they cannot be psed again.

That's a great article - it's hard to believe things went south for him so quickly. He was traded for a third-round draft pick after that 1997 season and the pick eventually ended up (after a trade with St Louis) as... Scott Frost.

Here's another article you will probably enjoy...

Murrel doesn't want to be the Jets' Meggett

Just out of curiosity, which side will Murrell play on weak or strong?

Former Southern California and Patriots fullback Sam Cunningham was born in 1950. His more famous brother, Randall, was born in 1963.

In other news, Terry Metcalf was 16 years old when his son Eric was born.
They were cloe enough in age to have both played in the NFL in the 1980s. Terry's final year was 1981. Eric was a rookie in 1989.

Just a hunch actually. Heres what Mangini said.

In the linebacker types you always want the ability to play the run, be a downhill player but also transition and have the pass-rush ability. [Tedy] Bruschi is a great example of that. He had a zillion sacks in college and ended up transitioning into the inside linebacker role. Now when he rushes from that spot, he's pretty difficult to block and you see the same savvy that you saw in college. That was another guy that was productive in college from that perspective."
