Beamen was telling me how I didn't know anything, how he was schooled at Penn State on QB technique. if they are teaching him to throw fromthe hip that would explain why PSU never produces good QBs.
The different is that Peyton is at the step where he has the ball cocked, Kellen is bringing it up to that position.... Ball carriage is supposed to be around your chest cavity, or a little higher, exactly where Kellen carries it.... The next step is to cock your arm to the 'L' position, while stepping a little to the left of your target (as a righty, of course)... In your photos, Kellen is in between the first and second steps, in the process of cocking the ball... Peyton is between the 2nd and third steps, cocking the ball, and torquing your body to accompany the release.... Get real junc....
at no point does Manning sling it from his hip, you need to get real. kellen is starting from a position that is too low, manning begins much higher where he is supposed and Brady the same. You never want to begin your motion from the hip. You need to get real.
He's not 'slinging from his hip'... You're judging from one photo, where he hasn't even cocked the ball yet... Manning has the highest ball carriage of any QB in football, but most QBs, like Brady, for example, carry it around their chest cavity.... The second you go to cock your arm (the moment that photo was taken), the ball's going to be low, for a split second, before the arm reaches it's starting point (see the Manning photo) Take a look here... Notice the ball carriage.... Now look at the shot, before the ball is fully cocked: Look familiar? And now here he is with the ball fully cocked... Right next to his ear... Hmm, coulda sworn I heard somebody outline the throwing motion exactly like this...
Well hey at least Clemens has the most normal facial expression. It might not land him in a pro-bowl but he'll never have to worry about accidentally biting his tongue off.
Watch the tape and it's also in a to of photos. I don't think the photographers are getting lucky catching him at the hip and even when he throws he's not throwing over the top it's more on the side. other than starting from the hip the biggest difference you'll notice btw Manning/Brady and KC is tha Manning and Brady's shoulders are parallel to the ground while KCs are not. KC holds it properly when dropping back but drops his elbow and slings from the hip instead of getting on top of it. The Pics below are fro Oregon, the ball should never be that low- it shouldn't be below your hand.
Thanks for proving my point at no time does Brady have his hand on top of the ball and when he's cocked and ready to throw his shoulder is parallel to the ground unlike Clemens. The ball is a little low in that middle pic though.
You're going to a different part of his delivery now, the release... You were talking about how he 'slings from the hip', and I easily disproved that, so now you're looking for a new way to bash him... Many QBs have a bit of a 3/4 release like Clemens does.... For the record, here's Chad, at the same point in the delivery you were saying was poor for Clemens... Brett Favre Elway (bottom left) and, last, but not least, Marino Hmmm, all look the same at the same point in their delivery... Odd
you didn't disprove anyhing, he strts his motion from his hip- that's indisputable. as far as the other pis, the Chad pic is from training camp- he dosn't throw like that. favre has poor frm(one of the great QBs w/ poor form I was talkig about). Elway threw it in a similar fashoion but Kc is not lway and Marino held the ball back but he didn't start his deivery from down there. The bottom line is kellen has poor mechanics and that's indisputable. You said he had perfect form and you were wrong.
Kellen's delivery doesn't look like that anymore... Probably something they had him refine for the combine, I'd assume.. Since now his delivery is very similar to the league norm....
Give it up, the guy has a beautifull delivery and has been whacked around like a pinata and hasn't put the ball on the turf. He has a great motion and throws right over the top, it's just to quick for you, you're so used to wind up telegraphed delivery.
the pics below looks almost the same just taken at a different angle. and he throws a little sidearm:
I like you winston but you don't have a clue about this issue, beamen and I are having an intelligent discusion here so unless you have some good info don't bring your anti-junc posts in here please. Thanks.
He does throw a little sidearm, I'll give you that, but that's generally only on his deep balls, and it hasn't hurt him in that regard, at all.... Many QBs kind of 'string out' their release when throwing deep... Case in point: It really isnt an issue... His ball carriage is fine, He is a little more 'on top' of the ball as he brings it up than many, but that's because, from the looks of it, he holds his fingers a little further up on the laces.... If his hand were more towards the back of the ball (ala Kurt Warner, for instance) he would look exactly like the rest of these guys at that point in his delivery.... There are very few guys in the league who aren't schooled to the extent that they have a picture perfect release... Those few who get away with it are usually the exceptionally gifted athletes, or the rare gunslinger.... Kellen is not one of those guys
Like and intelligence has nothing to do with it, this was just blatantly stupid comment on your part and Beaman absolutely owned you with the photo's. The guys throwing motion is one of the smoothest, quickest, compact deliveries in the league right now. It's one of the few things that stand out about him and you see it as a negative. Go figure.
I don't want to beat a dead horse here, but for the record... The QB with the best form and throwing motion in the entire league: Carson Palmer
