And this comes from player X that played for the Falcons under Glanville...

Uh.huh... one of the dirtiest all time coaches in NFL history. The Dirty Birds was the nickname during that era.

Your *ahem* friend played for class act organization... maybe he should keep his pie hole shut about dirty plays

They actually weren't the dirty birds until Dan Reeves was the coach and they were the dirty birds because of the dance Jamal Anderson would do when he scored a TD.

Oh and this guy was an offensive player so I don't think he was taking too many cheap shots at opposing QB's.

As far as my *ahem* friend believe what you wanna believe. I don't care what some skins fan believes, it doesn't change the fact that he felt your boy should have been ejected.

FYI the Dirty bird dance came from the nickname during the Glanville era. It was like they were making it their own since they finally were starting to have success with Reeves.

I don't doubt you have a friend from the NFL as stated. I was outta line to suggest otherwise. Apologies.

I think you should check your facts about the Falcons....

I'll call him and find out. If I'm wrong I'm man enough to admit it.

I'll be talking to him again on Wednesday....

It started under Dan Reeves in the 1998 season. I don't think the dance or sobriquet was in play in 1997.
It was not in play during the Jerry Glanville or June Jones stints.

I am not a troll. I have a differing opinion.

A troll would post like this:

    BOOYAH!!

SUCK it Jetsies. Welcome to 1-8. etc etc etc etc neener neener etc etc etc..

    -------------

I have not conducted myself that way on this board or more importantly in my life. I do appreciate yall being gracious enough to have me for the past week, and I will continue to come back and post now and again.

Hey even if you do think poorly of me, we do have one thing in common. We both loathe the pats.

    ~Peace.

I can only speak for myself but I think your wrong about the hit but of course your gonna defend your team. I can respect that. Certainly I got offended when assholes like Peter King started ripping Mangini for exposing the Cheatriots.

On the Landry hit it looks as though he was lucky Landry got there before Taylor 'cause those blindside hits tend to be a lot worse than a hit you see coming.

Washington Redskins safety LaRon Landry and Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle LaJuan Ramsey were fined one game check each Monday by the NFL for unnecessary roughness for hits with the helmet.

Landry was fined $16,764 for roughing the passer, specifically making helmet-to-helmet contact with New York Jets quarterback Kellen Clemens on Sunday.

I thought he would be suspended, but I guess it's the same as losing 1 game.

no i told yall the hit was bone-headed. i told yall hed be fined. I told yall he would not be suspended.

THATS what I told yall. Just because I am an insider here in DC... figured I'd let the news break for itself.

If he does the same thing next week... then yeah I think he will get suspeneded.

Oh, and another thing. He did lose the game check, but he will get paid anyway. A type of bonus that most all nfl players have in their contracts.
