I propose we draft all linemen. Forget any other position, and simply draft as many of the best lineman available at every single pick we get in the draft. Have them all compete and sort it from there. If we continue to run a 3-4 I'll field drafting a really great linebacker as well.
Draft all linemen? We have so many holes that we should take BPA at our picks and for our first rd pick consider the pros of cons of taking need vs BPA. ME personally I want Chris Long or McFadden
BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE. If its McFadden, It's McFadden. And if we trade the pick and McFadden is there (which I doubt we'd be in that position) we better get a TONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
we need guards and some tackles, along with nose tackles. it would be nice if the jets starting next season do switches from 3-4 to 4-3 and vice versa more often if we have a good draft it is possible, most of our players know a 4-3 and only harris needs to learn it but i guess it will be easy to learn it for him, they practice every week so it isnt bad to run 3-4 plays that week and run 4-3 plays the other week, what will we loose? nothing. most players know both, the team we play against that week practices for us running a 3-4 when we are going into the game as a 4-3 big advantage for us, and if the opposing team so happens to practice for us running a 4-3 and we come in running a 4-3, then it will be a normal football game, because all defenses run one defense so any opposing team can practice the offense more consistently.
With the first pick I hope they draft the Bpa! Long, Mcfadden Or Dorsey. After that work on the offensive line, Defensive lines and Linebackers.
What I'd like to see the Jets do this year is favor size and speed and attitude over whatever else they were looking at in the last two drafts. I want big, fast players on the field who enjoy putting a hurt on the opponent. Ideally the Jets would plan to take appropriate big talent on each pick, with tradedowns if the right people were not there on the slot.
Jets need to work on both lines and get a bad ass outside linebacker that can consistently pressure a QB
Which Long? Chris Long the DE or Jake Long the OT? I don't care how or in what order, but I want to get talent at positions of need, unfortunately I don't think the Jets can afford to go BPA like they did last draft. I just want to see any combination of OT, OG, NT, DE, and LB. NO TRADING UP! More picks, more more more...
A better plan for the draft would be to go out and Sign Michael Turner UFA from SD, and trade him for a 1st. . . this way we have two 1st rounders. /sarcasm
It all starts up front... look towards a linemen draft (OL/DL) with maybe one offensive skill player drafted (TE,WR) and another DB. I'd love to get a huge NT like Okam or Bryant, maybe even groom B.J. Raji from BC. Big guys to do the Wilfork thing.
