    Kellen - 67 yards in 3 minutes
    Chad - 55 yards in 57 minutes

Kellen may very well throw interceptions, but at least we will no longer be in the land of DINK and DUNK and defenses cheating up on the line because our QB can't throw more than a 5 yard pass.

This place amazes me. Buffalo up by 10 with 3 minutes left. Seems like a prevent to me. This is exactly like saying Chad threw a touchdown last week in Cincy on the last play of the game. Who the hell cares. Both games were over and one is not better/worse thatn the other and Chad threw for 106. The defense is going to be up on the line now more than ever this year to stop the run and put the game in the hands of a "rookie" qb. I don't understand why this does not make sense to anyone on this board.

I believe Kellen should be playing and Chad should move on to another team, but if you think this is all of a sudden going to magically win games, you are in for a big disappointment and in 4 weeks you will be calling for Kellen's head. Things can get worse and in my opinion they will before they get better.

True, but the great ones throw even more than that!

    Year #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 #7

    1 ........28 12 6 14 12 13 17
    2 ........15 14 17 15 11 24 11
    3.........15 12 21 23 12 14 17
    4.........23 14 23 13 10 13 18
    5.........19 14 13 12 13 13 9
    6.........10 12 23 19 9 16 17
    7.........10 n/a 22 18 13 23 19
    8.........10 n/a 11 14 10 23 18
    9.........9 n/a 13 12 8 16 17
    10.......n/a n/a 16 17 16 15 13

    #1 is Payton Manning
    #2 is Tom Brady
    #3 is Dan Marino
    #4 is John Elway
#5 is Joe Montana the only one that bucks the trend
    #6 is Brett Favre

I used the 10 consecutive years with 300+ pass attempts or more (Except Jim Kelly only threw that many x1). If he was injured (ie. Marino) I skipped to the following year. For the most part this is years 2-12 as most of them had hardly any throws their first year with the exception of Payton. I can honestly say that if KC turns out to be half as good as these guys than an INT or 2 is no big deal.

Manning threw more picks early in his career. Last 4 years he was 10 or less, and will probably be less than 10 again this year.

    Brady has never thrown 15.

Favre, Marino, and Elway, yea, they did have some years where they threw a lot of picks, so yea, if Kellen Clemens is as good as 3 of maybe the best 5 QB's ever, he might be able to get by with it.

But Clemens is not as physically talented as any of those 3. And he's not playing in an offense or for a team that's going to want him to play like those 3 played.

Being from Pittsburgh I couldnt watch the game so I was hoping for some insight on what happend vs. the bills particularly with Lav Coles. 1 reception? Was he not started until late in the game on account of his ankle or did he play the whole game? Hopefully he'll be fine after that hit he took, man Chad really floated that one and left him out to dry! Anyone know if Coles will play next week and what do you guys feel about his play with Clemmons as QB. I dont know much about Clemmons. Thanks

Hey I did not cherry pick stats they are what they are. Yeah these are the best Qb's of the last 20 years. They all average more than 15 int's per except Montanta and Brady. Manning has thrown less lately as he matured but like I said I did not cherry pick anything and fact of the matter is he threw a shit load of them in his first 6 years.

My point was not to say he is going to be in this elite territory. Fact of the matter is we do not know what kind of talent and physical ability that will transpire in him. My point is if he is a gun slinger he is going to get a lot of int's. However, the td's he throws can/may/will more than make up for it as is evidenced by using these examples.

You don't think that a QB who throws down the field is very likely to be throwing more than 6 or 8 INTs every season?

Remember, I said PRE shoulder surgeries Chad

I like the idea that we are gonna see what KC can do now rather than next year. Our future QB might not even be on the team yet.

Unfortunately, it is a very real possibility that many people on this message board will be throwing him under the bus Sunday if he isn;t putting up better numbers than Chad

    I know.

He threw 6 his first season but he only played 12 games.
    2003 he threw 12 in 10 games.
    2004 he threw 9 in 13 games.

If change that to 16 games, he threw 8 in 2002, 19 in 2003, 11 in 2004. An average of 12.6 interceptions for season.

So no, I don't expect much more than that from my QB.

It can possibly make up for it.

Most likely it won't, unless he is as talented of a player as Marino,Elway, etc.

And Marino spent most of his career throwing all the time. Games where he threw 50 passes were not rare. Elway played on a lot of terrible teams for a lot of his career where he had to do so much.

Unless our offense and coaching staff has a dramatic change in philosophy, you can't even really compare the situations.

The team hasn't done much in almost 40 years, lately is 1968.

Depends on your definition of "done much". If you are of single minded purpose and winning a championship is all that counts then yeah, not much. I am not sure how anyone who lives that way can survive 40 years without a championship and still be a fan. Winning doesn't last forever. Even the greatest dynasties fall. It helps when your team is at least in the mix now and again. We have had quite a bit of that over the last few years.

Kellen has half a season (8 Games) to see what he is all about if he exceeds wich i hope then we have our franchise QB and if he doesent unfortunately well have to look to draft our franchise QB. Best of luck !
