I am a fanatic Jet fan from way back and will never watch my team in the hopes they lose. Whats the point.? Kinda like hoping your Qb gets hurt so you can see what the backup looks like. But at this point I am so disgusted that a loss also brings us closer to better draft picks and an easier schedule next year. So I go into games hoping we turn things around and find some answers and kick some ass, but in the back of my head I also know we are not going anywhere with the team the way it stands. And I guess a loss doesnt hurt as bad...Wow would that be a positive way to look at things now?? Need to check if it was posted with the positive post. Anyone else in the same boat as me??...Back to Man this sucks. Aint helpin things that Friggin Pats and Sox are doin so well. Its gotten so I dont even hate Miami anymore. They are even more pathetic than us. Man this sucks... I love to hate Miami

I find myself strangely unable to look away, yet it hurts too much to place an emotional investment on this team......I think even if you start clemmons.... this defense will lose us the rest or most of our remaining games

People will flame you for this but I happen to agree. At some point you have to accept reality and look to the future. The best way to succeed in the future is to get better draft picks (and keep them).

A certain amount of flaming was to be expected. But I must emphasize , I cannot bring myself to wish for a loss...Just not in me. Nor will I wish an injury on a player

I’m sick of playing for draft picks – I just want my god damn teams to give me something to cheer for.

I swear – between the Mets and Jets this year…I’m getting too old for this bullshit. I’ve been a passionate fan for a long, long time but I think I might be OVER sports in general.

Kindly don’t suggest I “Just go pick another team and phuck off” because that is not what this is about.

You are not alone Bro. Friggin Mangini gets on press conference and talks about how he is sick of the same old thing. He aint even been here 2 years ..How would he like to be us the devoted fans?? Year in and out the same shit. Some years they toy with us to just screw it up in the end. Then their are the years like this one, no toying with us year. They have sucked from the begining. I agree with what you said about Mets and Jets, makes it worse the success of Pats and Sox. But I can do ya one more. When all else failed in pro sports I followed a particular college team that is not doing well either...Notre Dame. So it looks to me like I will be getting a lot of yard work done this year as their is no real need to watch sports until next year.....man this sucks

IMHO at least in the case of the NYJs you can extend your yard work thru 2008, 2009 & maybe even 2010 as well

Fellow Met fan here as well, at least the Mets were interesting all season. Jets season is already over barring a comeback of epic proportions.

It may be about having a greater level of detachment from what is happening on the field, just as a matter of emotional self-preservation.

From here on out with Clemens as the starting Qb the best thing for his development and in turn the Jets future is to win as many games as possible. Ther draft pick is meaningless compared to Clemens development..

Are you going to tell me a shot at a Run Stuffing Tackle, Pass Rushing De or a possible Franchise Rb in the top ten of this years draft is not important?

rooting for the draft pick is ridiculous, history has proven it doesn't matter if you have a top 5 pick or the last pick in the first round, if you draft well. It is far more important for Clemens to become a Qb that can win games for this team than getting a top 5 pick.

Yeah, because we went to the playoffs how many times in the last 10-12 years. When there was something to cheer for it was never good enough. Now we are experiencing a setback and you would think we were the Bungles of the 1990's.

I think both are equally important. Granted there are Tons of top ten bust to look back at in the draft. I think Tangini has done a decent job in drafting so far and I do have confidence that they will get a good player no matter who they draft. I would prefer to trade down if we did get a top ten pick. We have to many holes to fill.

Jones is the Franchise back for the next 3 years.
DRob will move out to DE.

The Two RUn stuffing Dt's this team needs should be available no matter where we draft, even if we win out.

Frank Okam should be be available between mid1st and mid2nd and Jason Shirley willd efinitiely be availalble 3rd rd or later. (Those are projecting both palyers well UP from where they will probably go.

Other than that we need a 3/4 pass rushing OLB.

Losses are very important at this point if they are just empty losses with no value achieved through them. Getting a higher draft pick just does not matter in the long run given all of the other failures going on around the Jets. I don't particularly care if Terry Bradway is going to have the pick of the litter available on the 1 pick because like the Jets other 1st round picks under his oversight he'll screw it up.

I figure I have something like 320 to 480 Jets games left in my life and I don't have games to waste because the clueless are running the asylum. That's how you get out to 50 years as a fan and never see the big win.
