Just saying Mcfadden would likely be there at three if the draft was held today.

I guess the Rams would go with that OT Long and the Fins would go with Anderson at QB. I really don't know what the rams need.... they were suppose to be go with all the FA's they signed, but I gather they would look to replace Orlando pace.

If we draft a god damn RB in the first round I'll be heated. RB's are a dime a dozen.

I forgot to update the rankings with the MNF game last week. Atlanta picks third, we pick fourth. I'll put the new weeks up on monday or tuesday.

Sorry for the slacking this week

Love Peterson pick, and ditto for whomever selects Mr. McFadden. However, when I look at other successful teams - Pats, Colts, Broncos, Eagles during there run - you see that a solid offensive line and defense gets the job done. Chargers haven't done jack with arguably the most talented RB in this decade.

Matty, I understand where you're coming from here, but to be fair, both the Pats and Colts have used first rounders on RBs.

Darren McFadden? Are you serious? Our Runningbacks are the least of the Jets worries. We have TJ and Leon to carry the ball. Those two guys together are more than capable of getting the job done.

The Jets need to add a free agent to the offensive line to get the Running game AND passing game going.

Lets say we are picking at around #7 or 8, and Jake Long drops, do you pick him there to play RT, or pass on a bigger playmaker?

Personally, I pass, and look at RT in the next round or two.

Are you sure? I think we have the third and Atlanta the fourth right now.

True!! I want the Jets to grab Mcfadden if we have a top 3 pick, he's a difference maker. But what is the biggest differene between the Colts/Patriots and the rest of the League? It's PM & TB.

Jason......Many on this board, including myself have mentioned spending a very early pick (7 or 8) on a Rt is insane. You are exactly right, that Rd 2 or 3 would be a ideal spot to improve our O-Line.
The way the season is unfolding, we are primed for a top 5 pick.

Ideally i would go 1) Elite OLB, 2) Best offensive Guard available, 3) 34 Nose tackle if available, 4) 34 Defensive End...

We just extended Clement, and he honestly isn't doing that bad. I think with an upgrade in both guard positions, weather in free agency or the draft, will drastically improve this line. Run blocking is the problem, we are not terrible pass blocking. Take a look at what we held the Giants to a couple weeks ago, then look at what the Giants have been doing to every other O line they've faced. We need mauling guards to open up running room, I really don't think running back is a concern.

    I would do

1.) OLB w/ great pass rushing skills
2.) NT if available (doubt it)
3.) WR w/ game breaking speed
    4.) OG
5.) FS only because Mangini seems to have no confidence in the ones on the roster
6.) OT deal or no deal Clements is a stop-gap; Maybe Bender is the guy but who knows.
    7.) CB for depth

Bj raji seems to be the only player with the size and strength for nosetackle, and he's probably not coming out this year. Looks like we're forced to see D rob there for another year.

Ok. Just to throw my two cents into this mess:

    1. If McFadden is available, he's BPA -- you take him. Jones and Leon will fit in or fall by the wayside. Running backs like McFadden (Peterson, Bush, etc) only come along once a year, so you take him when he's there. These backs elevate the performance of the entire team. You don't just pass.

    2. Jake Long = Robert Gallery. Stay away.

    3. If we're as high up as we will most likely be (top four picks) we take BPA in the first then go: Guard, DT, DE, Corner in that order.

    Cheers.

We just drafted an offensive lineman two years ago in top 5. Please, not again.

Right idea, bad example. I'd saying once a year is quite often.

Bush isn't doing much elevating these days.

Always take the runningback LAST, after you have most of the other pieces in place because he's the guy most likely to go 2 seasons and out due to injury.

The Jets needs at the moment are on the offensive and defensive lines and secondarily at OLB and possibly QB. Obviously you don't take guards or a right tackle with a top 10 pick so that makes the Jets best options a game-changing 3-4 defensive lineman or OLB available and appropriate for the pick. Trade down otherwise.
