Because Herm is a bandwagon-hopping opportunist who would throw his dog under the bus if it farted in front of the wrong guests?

exactly. I don't know why Mangini isn't playing Clemens, but is clear to everyone but him that Chad isn't working. that is my problem with Mangini. at this point, a smart head coach would know he has no choice but to see what he has in Clemens. there is no guarantee he is going to be great, so waiting for a more optimal time for him to play is silly -- you get him out there now when he is needed and see what he has, plain and simple. there isn't anything else to wait for.

I find it hard to believe that Clemens will really be significantly better in two weeks than he would have been two weeks ago. a head coach knows that at some point the QB has to go out there and play, and a good head coach knows when it is time to make that change.

:rofl2: :rofl2: I guess you're right..... But sometimes it's nice to have a coach who pays attention to what other people think... Because sometimes, those people are right.... Stubbornness looks like it's going to be Mangini's downfall

My memory of 02 was that Hackett installed the O in 01 for Chad and Chad was given the opportunity to win the starting job in TC in 02 and Herm went with Vinny anyway. Unlike that year this year the O was still in for Chad and Chad was given the job in the off season with Clemens not given the opportunity to win it. Any one with a brain knows that Clemens out played Chad in TC and preseason but the staff didn't want to give him the job this year.

I'm disputing the validity of off-the-cuff remarks misrepresented on a continual basis by the press. Sorry I had to explain that to you.

Like I've been saying, he will not change starting QB until the bye-week. By then the season will be over and we will have the #1 pick locked up.

Then KC will start and do good enough to screw up our chances on the #1 pick. We will end up with the #4 pick once again and use it on either a DL or OL.

    Things never change.

Are you insane? 2 0-6 teams with the Saints rushing to be 0-5 tonight. And then you have a slew of teams just as bad as the Jets. We're looking at a #13 pick at best, even with a crappy record.

PS- Mangini is another loyal idiot. But he will not be fired after this year even if he sticks with Chad and rides him to 1-15.

I think Magini will change QB's this week. He isn't about losing. He still believe's he can win with Chad. But after getting 120 yards from TJ. There is no more excuse about the running game not being there. I think he didn't want to sell out Chad after the game knowing if KC gets hurt he has to go back to Chad. So there will be a change. I don't think they'll wait until the bye week either. They still have a chance at the playoff's in their minds.

An actual Gilmore Girl can throw better than Chad.

  13. So much for a coach that embraces competition, innovation and playing the best man for the job.

We were fooled last year, my fellow jet fans. Mangini is just as big of a schmuck as Kotite, Herm or Coslet ever were.

Not to ruin this thread's umf but when was the last time any coach said he'd make the change immediately right after the game. I'd wait till at least the middle of the week before any news on a possible QB change were to occur.

Even Lovie Smith this year didn't say anything until the middle of the week.

A lot of coaches will say 'We'll evaluate the game during the week' or something like that....

Mangini said, without hesitation, "No." When asked if he would CONSIDER a change...

There's a difference.... Some coaches will skirt the issue, or be elusive about the question.... Mangini denied it, flat out...

This team since Mangini has got here has always been secretive, why the hell do you think it will change now. Skirting the issue basically means that the change is immiment. Therefore I will say it again wait till the middle of the week for potential QB change news if not gametime next week.
