I don't think "fault" is the word. He's really a team guy - always has been. And quite an intelligent leader in all ways. He does lack the one thing that would open up any game, however. This is a huge disadvantage, IMO.

Probably not, so I agree. But I'm still willing to take the chance and see, rather than sit on my hands watching one putrid loss after another.

Thank you for acknowledging that. If this were a small dimension, I'd be willing to disregard it. But it's not. It's a huge ingredient. It's something every winning QB has and Chad doesn't have. So what should that be telling us?

Probably correct, but we don't know unless we try. In any event, we don't look like a playoff calibre team under Pennington. It shouldn't take 4 or 5 more losses to recognize that, either. Why not give Clemens a try? If you accomplish nothing else, you find out, one way or the other, what you have in Clemens instead of waiting 'till next year. It might also spark the team.

Sure, if Clemens falls on his face, then we have a QB controversy extraordinaire. But we have the beginnings of that now anyway. And if Clemens does fail, it's an almost excruciating situation for Mangini, who will be socond-guessed unmercifully.

But any good HC that's worth his salt gets paid for that... to make the tough decisions and take the heat. So far Mangini talks the talk of the tough, decisive coach. If Pennington struggles with the dink and dunk on Sunday and we go down in flames, Mangini's going to have to walk the walk in terms of dealing with it. Otherwise, he runs the risk of appearing the paper tiger.

People are just inpatient and they cant stand us making the worst team in the NFL look like a team who won back to back super bowls it gets very frustrating but then again its only week 5 and theres alot of ball to be played but i can understand both side and the CS needs to make adjustments or well Murder she wrote...

I tried to show that in my thread what the hell , but I guesse it was too much to connect the dots the way I did it. Brady Struggled eairly (Kellen in Baltimore) but then energized his team and led the chrage !

it certainly did take noodle arm 1:37 to go 35 yards. so how many passes did it take him to go those 35 yards?

you do reallize, there are some qb's in this league that can go that distance and more on one single strike, right????

You keep mentioning Palmer... Clemens is in his second year, it's not like he is being thrown to the wolves right out of college. He's had a full season, 2 training camps, and now some actual game time to figure out the NFL. Our pass blocking is not completely horrible - and if we can lengthen the field (Kellens 5 20+ yard plays in 1 game, Chad 2 20+ yard plays all season) it will help open up the running game. Currently we can either run, or pass for 5-7 yards, both of which allow 8 or 9 guys in the box.

The best response I saw was about the lack of improvement from week to week. You can throw out the opener - the Patriots are head and shoulders the best team in the NFL right now. I was dissapointed in the play versus Baltimore, and even in the victory the Jets looked less than stellar versus the Dol-finks. This past week had me the most concerned, because the team looked lifeless and could not attack the Bills' weaknesses or stop their inexperienced QB.

I'm not panicked, but I question whether this team is headed in the right direction?

The winners of the last 8 superbowls were good teams that had the talent they needed to play the 3-4. Useless facts.

I agree with that. Very few great NFL QBs ever sit for 3 years before taking over. The only two I can even think of may be Young and Favre and both because they were on teams that already had great QBs. (Favre actually needed to be traded, Montana of course was ahead of Young). If Clemens is ever going to be the savior of this team then he is ready now or he never will be.
