No, I disagree completely. Sunday wasn't nearly as bad, since even if they had made the postseason the Mets were going nowhere. I believe that the decision to bring back the incompetent Randolph, along with a win-at-all-costs ultimatum to Minaya, could easily kill this franchise not only in 2008, but in years to come.
Close, but not quite - our whole farm system for Santana without signing him to an extension first! hmy:
If thats the case it's a disaster....I just hope we can try to hold on to either Guerra or F-Mart, I hope both. I'm almost higher on Guerra now. From what I heard he can be an ace....and he's only 18!! I'm hoping to get an internship with Baseball America over next summer so I hope I can learn about these prospects
God, I hope I was just kidding - certainly there is NO chance that the Mets would make any deal for Santana without signing him to a contract extension? Not only should Omar be fired if he did that, the Wilpons should be forced to sell the team!
Are you on drugs? The Yankees will not go out and get Santana this year. I think the Yankees better hope to god ARod doesn't opt out or they'll be looking for alot more than a pitcher. They'll be looking to fill the main reason they even made the playoffs. It certainly wasn't because of anything Johnny Damon or Hideki Matsui or Bobby Abreu did. My gut tells me if they don't win the WS I think it'll be another A Bomb from A Rod right outta that dump of a borough you guys play in. Now go back to your Yankee wet dreams....
Important Question: Anyone know the deal with Sanchez, is he going to throw winter ball or be ready for ST?
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/baseball/mlb/10/02/glavine.future/index.html Good riddance douchebag, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Great news! I hope he signs with the Braves rather then retires so we can bash this piece of shit around the park a few times next year.
Nope. Dump Delgado, Let Barry Bonds play first. Reyes Castillo Wright Bonds Beltran Milledge Lo Duca Who cares P You'd score two touchdowns a game.
Hobbes you are a funny guy. I want nothing to do with Bonds. I'd have a very difficult time rooting for him.
i dont really know how much changes can be made. their isnt a second baseman really worth looking at so we're either giving the reigns to gotay or bringing back castillo. as far as outfielders i'd bring back alou on his option which is a good price and throw gomez out there when he needs a rest. in right you need to find out once in for all if we're gonna stick with milledge or not. if we dont bring him back the only outfielder that really caught my eye is adam dunn and im not sure if hes a good fit here. id bring back shawn green on the cheap as a backup lf/backup 1b/ pinch hitter. catcher is the only position where we could make a decent upgrade. id go after both posada and pudge. the only change in the rotation is gonna be glavines successor which will be either pelfrey, humber, or a grime older junkballer. if we can get a marquee pitcher that can consistantly go longer than 6 inning id pull the trigger on the deal but i dont see it happening. for a prospect this brings us to the bullpen. if we're not gonna add much payroll to the lineup or starting pitching we might as well make sure we have one of the more dominant pens in the league. id take a hard look at either dotel or shawn chacon. in addition to duaner sanchez coming back adding another strong arm should make for a strong pen. like i said not much changes here.
Word is that the Cardinals are firing Walt Jocketty. Tony LaRussa may or may not be leaving as well. Not that it'll ever happen, but wouldn't you swap Omar/Willie for those two? I mean, don't the Wilbons have to at least consider making some sort of change now?
Why the hell would I want Jocketty over Minaya? So I can watch David Eckstein and Adam Kennedy all season? And LaRussa is a prick.
