Don't we still have about $10 Million in unspent cap space?

 

ABsolutely......Thomas Jones is a centre-piece on offense, not a guy you get it to when you can like Coles and Cotchery....he is a guy you have to hand the ball to.....here's is no good reason that the Jets offense should be neglecting the guy they need most......it is truly pathetic game planning form the OC

It tells me the FO was not completely committed to fielding the best possible team for its fans this season.

 

I agree and that's what gets so many people here so annoyed.

 

Still a playoff team? Man, even if we get Jones and Washington the ball 30 times combined and Chad throws 20 passes and the O-line actually blocks, we still aren't a playoff team because of this defense....

Randy Moss waited around in Oakland to talk to Chad, and undoubtedly knew he'd be out of Oakland soon, probably mentioning that the two of them should try to get together again......and how much of an effort did we make to get the guy? Just because we had 2 good WRs already is no reason to think that we didn't need Randy.

 

Now if they could just figure out a way to work that into a Bud Light news conference commercial.

 

My point is that we could afford to pay him the money. I don't agree with not spending the money, but I'm no cap expert.

 

No kidding..and if I get going on Randy Moss and why we didn't get him, I'll have a stroke.

 

No, we aren't but Tannenbaum claims to be one. Just look at the people NE brought in this off season and they have the same cap we do.

 

I think NE was in a much better position to bring those guys in. They already had a solid foundation built, something we surely do not have. Could we have helped build a solid foundation with FA? Probably, but I don't think we were really in a position to bring in a bunch of flashy WR's to put us over the edge.

Adalius Thomas would have helped for sure!

 

All Pennington would have to do is get the ball in the same zip code as Moss and we would make the catch. Hell he caught passes from Pennington in college and set NCAA records doing it.

 

Ok, then why didn't we bring in the cheaper linemen that we did need?

Who were these cheaper linemen you speak of? Believe me I would have loved to have seen an upgrade on the o-line. We did upgrade the d-line at least.

This regime has come out and stated they want to build through the draft. That will take time. If a solid young FA o-lineman was available for a do-able price I would hope they would go after him.

 

Straight up we have the two worst starting Guards in the entire NFL. Moore and Clarke have absolutely ZERO push or power in the run game. They never get to the second level... That's why Jones is yet to put on a show for us, and it's a damn shame too because Jones is a highly talented player who I really like.
