The Jets just gave up 17 points to a team that had scored 8 points a game over the previous 3 and benched their starting QB. Does anybody really think that giving up 17 points to a team in that circumstance is a complete defensive failure? I mean the Bills are going to score 200 points this year one way or the other because almost no NFL teams go below that mark. So giving up 17 to them is not surprising. They were blowing chunks with Losman at QB and replaced him. We lost this game because the Jets offense is as bad as the Jets defense when it's challenged.
Don't crucify Sutton... sure he is part of the problem, but the real problem is at the top. Our savior last year is our burden this year. Mangini has become VERY stiff, and if something doesn't change soon, we may have Herm part 2 on our hands.

I agree about Bob Sutton, but remember this is Mangini's defense, he was the one who brought the 3-4, he is a defensive specialist and there has to be some blame placed on him
Yeah, I love you Mangini, but the 3-4 Defense is not for the Jets. 4-3 ALL THE WAY! Unless you can find a monster NT (ala Jamal Williams of SD) .

It's too early to call for Mangini's head...but if they don't change the defensive schemes, we are in for a long tenure. Sutton is NOT getting the job done, the 3-4 is not for us.
Yeah, then we can win every other game. We boo him when he gets injured, he sits out a week, and then he comes back and wins. Great plan. We also need to get rid of McCareins.
I would be a charter member of the Fire Bob Sutton club. Yes, the 4-3 is a better fit than the 3-4. Yes, he's working with personnel that's not suited to the scheme. The fact is, the team is STILL poorly coached for the 3-4, even given that situation. Guys don't know what the hell they're supposed to be doing in year 2? Are you kidding me? So the playcalling up front on D ends up as vanilla as an albino's ass and leaves the best part of our defense (the secondary) to get picked apart in situations that NO DB short of Champ Bailey would be successful in. Blame Mangini for not scheming to the strength of his team, but blame Sutton for being an all around terrible coach.

Nah...they were cheering when Pennington was hopping off of the field. IF they were cheering for Clemens - they would've waited for him to actually get on the field before screaming at the tops of their lungs
