I just got back from stuff with my daughter to see Maine get screwed on the dribbler up the line. It really seems to be true that the Mets will never get a no-hitter.
I feel bad for Maine. A ball that went 35 ft away from home plate, by the BACK UP Catcher? What a shitty way to lose a No-Hitter. I must say though, Maine pitched BRILLIANT. One of the best outings by a Met in a long time, according to the booth.
Given how things have gone right for the Mets today, maybe the karma will continue in Philadelphia and the Nats will win. Hey, nothing lost in hoping. If nothing else, at least tomorrow's game will be meaningful.
It would funny if the Phillies collapse and give away the division lead after holding it for so very long.
