On the bright side, in a couple of years they will be green, fluorescent lit seats. I know during the baseball playoffs you get a lot of Met and/or Yankee fans leaving way early to get home or to the baseball games. I say all Jet fans should only be west coast baseball fans, to avoid such a conflict. Especially for a team that either misses the playoffs entirely or gets swept right out of them before Sunday.
Don't be Mets hatin. Weren't you the one with the "Look at our starters, biznatches. Match that!!!!" post just after the all star break? Well, we matched it. ..and the playoffs start AFTER sunday, so we'll either miss the playoffs or get swept out of them before the FOLLOWING Sunday.......but I forgive ya because how would a Dodger fan know when the playoffs start?
believe me i understand the criticism as well, and maybe some of it is warranted.... but, I "habitually" leave early unless the game is obviously close and going to come down to the wire.......Not all of us live 45 minutes from the stadium.... and many of us leaving early meansthe difference between an hour and a half ride home or a 3+ hour ride home......for some fans that doesn't matter, for others it does The Jets organization has proven it doesn't reaaly take the Long Island fan into consideration anymore.....so I don't feel guilty hitting it with 10 minutes to go in a 31-13 game...........like i said earlier, if the team needs me to help them get through that, they should pay me....or at least give me the tixx for free
Schmidt and Wolf got hurt moments after I posted the thread. Last time I try that. And I don't hate the Mets, if the dummies hadn't traded Dave Kingman in 1977 and ruined my 10-year-old world, I'd still be a Mets fan. The Dodgers made it last year and were eliminated by Saturday night, allowing me to focus fully on the Jets 41-0 beating by Jacksonville. Fun weekend.
I think this has been an eye opening thread. It has shown that many of the people that leave are from Long Island. SInce I'm one of them, let me try and speak for all of them in an open letter to the Jets. Dear Jets, F**k you for moving in the first place. F**k you for promising to come back and going back on your promise. F**k you for now moving the whole operation to Jersey. F**k you for providing only a METRO NORTH rail line to the stadium. F**k you for sharing a stadium with the Giants for 25 years, and showing yourself to be even cheaper f**ks for signing on for another 30. You cleared a lot of us out over the years, but the die hards remain. Don't count on us to stay till the end if you play like S**t. Don't count on us to cheer wildly at the drop of a hat, because we don't have to. We'll yell on the occasional third down, but that's about it. If a hired shill in a fireman hat yells at me to "GET UP"!!!!! I'll yell back at him to "Shut the F**k Up!!!!!" I'll do the cheer, but I don't have to stand. If you do well, we'll proudly show off our apparel that says NEW YORK JETS. If you don't, you're Jerseys problem. Thanks for knocking a perfectly sucky Drew Bledoe out and ruining the millenium so far. We hope you win, but for all the F**king you done to us over the years you're gonna have to do it in spite of us. But we're still not gonna give up our tickets because, again, we don't have to. You don't like it, move to F**king Africa instead of Jersey. Regards, Gator LINY
But you see I don't think this a shot at people like you. We have to face facts that a large portion of our season ticket base are loser Giant fans that can't sniff the panties of a Giant game. So instead they bought tickets to the Jets and instead of converting to Jet fans have remained anti Jets. They could give a shit if the Jets win as long as they are home in time to watch the end of the Giants. When the Jets host the Giants this is evidenced by the large majority of losers in Tiki jerseys. I can remember as a kid watching us knock them out of the playoffs amid the thousands of Simms and LT jerseys in the crowd. (It was a Jet game in December after all.) Those Jet fans know who they are that he is talking about but I don't think he is taking a shot at 99% of guys on this board. The general group that he is ripping are these so called fans that have season tickets. Oh and as far as him writing this from his couch..... he isn't a season ticket holder. He doesn't have an obligation to go across the river 8 times a year. If he was a season ticket holder I'm sure he would. I saw multiple posts saying go to ebay or stubhub. Yeah so he can pay double to be told to sit down or shut up. Go there right now and see how many tickets are selling for face value.... seriously. It's very easy to rip Alio for pointing out that many of our season ticket holders don't really care if the Jets win or lose. What isn't easy is to look yourselves in the face and say I am guilty of being the guy that Alio is talking about in his post.
Dear Gator, Thank you for showing your interest and support for The New York Jets. It is you that makes our fan base great. Your passion for the team is what keeps it strong. I assure you that when our new stadium opens, we will have Parking Lot Patrol People dressed in Green and White to make your 3 hour commute back to the Island joyous. We are even considering painting the road stripes green as well. If your travel continues to be a problem, do not fret because as an organization, we are sure that a Giant fan that can not get Giants tickets will be honored to take your Jets Tickets. Please accept a token of our gratitude a free coupon to ride the NJ Light Rail System (Weekends and Holidays not included). Also, please look forward to the coming months when you will be receiving your invoice for your "PSL" at $5,000 per seat. Once again Thank You for your Continued Support. Jay Cross, P.R. Director NY Jets
Not to mention Craigslist, if you're willing to make just a little bit of effort to go meet the person at his work/home to pick it up. Bottom line, if you are a maniacal Jet fan, you can get tickets to almost any game at or near face. But I'm beginning to think that the guys who stay home and throw stones have the right idea.
or look in the tickets section on this site... i've posted tickets before... always for face value for Jets fans. except for ones that say I suck. they pay extra.
Spot on. I was at the Dolphins game and my first experience at the Meadowlands was sad, to say the least. You people (Season Ticket Holders) are pathetic. I had a season ticket holder, with his gay season ticket hat, picking on EVERYTHING the Jets did. He disgusted me. If you own season tickets in Section 103 Row 23....your a joke. Give the tickets to somebody who'll actually SUPPORT THIS TEAM.
Oh I agree. And he's not wrong. But making a thread title called "season ticket holders suck" is slightly offensive, really just because I go to the game, cheer my ass off, come home with a sore voice and I see someone saying "season ticket holders suck." And while he's not wrong, phrasing it differently would have gotten a much better reaction and probably made this a more productive thread.
Productive, I'm not sure about. Provacative... well, he sure did that. But I also go to the games, cheer my ass off and come home hoarse, so I know where Mack is coming from. When I read that I suck, I'm like, "Excuse me?" Unfortunately, not everyone is like me (us).. meaning my family, my friends, everyone else who I invite to the games and people like Jetfanmack or 80% of the other season ticketholders that contribute to this board and who take offense at threads titled in this way. But the reality is that there are Jets season ticketholders out there who are, well, I guess I'm no longer able to call them f*cking @ssholes, so I'll just call them... well.... let's see.... uh....
Post of the year without a doubt. That is perfectly said my friend....Alio, youre off base here bro,....people have lot of different situations in their lives bro....and as far as the defense sucking because the fans dont cheer-well thats borderline retarded. Like Gator said-if you need us to help then pay us:up:
My brother figured out a way to beat the parking problem. For the first time in 14 years, instead of us going with his sons to see the Jets in New York, he's taking them to Buffalo.
To guys like 227 and Mack, you were the type of people who I was referencing when I apologized at the beginning of the original post. You don't deserve to get lumped in with the targets of the rant. I've said it repeatedly in this thread, if the harsh words apply to you, then I have no problem if you feel offended. If they don't apply to you, then there's no reason to feel offense. You can only be expected to do what you can do yourself. It's not like I was calling you out to start yelling at others to get off their asses. If you're there when the final seconds tick off, hell even if you leave when a game like this past week is sealed after recovering the onside, or if you come home hoarse on Sunday, the thread doesn't apply to you. If you're one of the people who left an empty seat with 6:00 left on the clock, or were just sitting there on your hands all game, then this thread was pointed right at you. Is it the title that's pissing people off? If a mod wants to change it to "Many Season Tix Holders SUCK", feel free. I've already explained that I planned before I started writing the original post that I was putting the apology in at the end, because the thread was specifically intended to be pointed at the guilty, not everyone.
I don't have the time to read 11 page threads like this and I no longer have the time to go to Football games on the weekend.... The FACT OF LIFE is that when watching Jet games on TV, the noise compared to other games and when to make noise is completely pathetic.... Then there's the empty seats in the 1st and 4th Quarters.... THIS IS NOT DEBATEABLE.... So, yeah, pick on me for not being able to go to the games, pick on the announcers, pick on Alio or anyone you want.... There's a lot of reasons for it - The traffic, the move to Jersey, the construction, etc etc etc.... But, it's not debatable and I posted this many years ago that the Jets don't really have a homefield advantage.....It's sad..
