this year. I know its way too early for this talk, and probably will seem silly in a couple weeks. The only reason why I feel he might have a shot is that Raiders Oline coach (TOm Cable) Oline have always been able to run block. (ben one of the better rushing teams)

umm the only reason to have this conversation is if Jordan is leading the league in rushing right now, and since i dont think that this is the case, why are we having this argument??

Lamont is in the running so far... top 5 I think. If it gives you a reason to keep on living then you go on and keep believing Jeaux.

I'm pretty sure Eric Crouch could win it before LaMont Jordan - and he's not even in the league...but he's still the most badass option runner EVER.

No chance that Lamont gets enough carries without breaking down first.

I don't know that. Granted, the Raiders signed him this off season, but Rhodes has always been a guy who splits carries. Jordan is still the bigger money investment there and if he performs, they're not going to take the ball out of his hands.

Heres the top 41. Lamont is #2 right now. It seems to me that he has a chance, given that the O-line has a new blocking scheme that seems to be effective and the Raiders will look to pound the rock as much as possible in order to rely on their defense....

If Lamont stays healthy and continues to get the carries and blocking, I see no reason why he can't. His stat line is grea tas of game 3. The only question is will he be able to do it all year. I think he has the skills to.

    I'd bet against it.

Tomlin's going to run Free Willie into the ground, so unless Parker gets injured, I bet he finishes ahead of Jordan.

If you're going to take Jordan or the field, than yeah, of course. Who would be your Top-5 most likely to win the rushing title?

Mine would be (in no particular order):
    1. Willie Parker
    2. Willis McGahee
    3. Brian Westbrook (if he stays healthy)
    4. Ladanian Tomlinson
    5.Travis Henry

Henry and Parker would be at the top for me. Westbrook won't get enough carries. McGahee isn't good enough.

Two surprise guys could be Addai and THE Adrian Peterson.

I think that LT had too bad of a start to win it, McGahee has and will always be overrated, and I think Andy Reid will prevent Westbrook's chances, LaMont could be top 5 as well as Alexander and Addai

I think that so long as Willie stays healthy it will be his title to lose

    My top 10 choices

    1. Willie Parker
    2. Travis Henry
    3. Joseph Addai
    4. Shaun Alexander
    5. Travis Henry
    6. Adrian Peterson
    7. Brian Westbrook
    8. Edgerrin James
    9. Willis McGahee
    10. Larry Johnson
    11. Steven Jackson
    12. Frank Gore
    13. Lamont Jordan
    14. Jamal Lewis
    15. Lawrence Maroney

Granted, if Rhodes comes back and Jordan is still getting the same amount of carries, his chances go up immensely. But until I see how they're splitting carries, I can't give him that chance yet.

Besides, Oakland has played 2 bad defenses and then Denver, who isn't special either.
