    J- E- T- S Chant

not sure if you guys have discussed this already.....but looks like fireman Ed is out for the season.....so someone else has got to pick up the slack. Just got a e-mail from the Jets challenging fans to be loud and get the chant going.....They said they will be panning the crowd and picking random fans to lead the chant........should be interesting

Hopefully they don't do it when we're on offense...

    So here's a suggestion people.

Why not bring back the "old days"? Those of you going to the game, while you're out at the tailgate, spread the word to do the split East/West fight chant. Do it the entire time the defense is on the field, and let the cameras take care of the kickoff ones.

That solves all the problems, IMO. I'd get involved myself, but I don't have tickets.

I have a solution that should work for 90% of you.

How about instead of the "Flight Crew" waving flags around. Have them run the chant. Line up four girls on the each sideline and each endzone, then at the same time have them lift their shirts one by one to show J! E! T! S! painted on their bare chests.

For the remaining JETS! JETS! JETS! they can jump up and down three times.

Now THAT beats the hell out of a fireman or East/West fight chant.

I'd bet $10 that we'd never turn on the game and see empty seats at kickoff ever again.

And I'm not a betting man.

I'm sure he hurt his knee by carrying around that inflated ego of his and not during some fire...

Better yet: place them in the stands and have them rotate through sections during the game. I'd be willing to bet every 10 - 13 year old boy is so stunned he's unable to cheer, though.

nah, you can worry about the Dolphins

I got more important things to worry about

yeah the chant's been around longer than him, but it seems klike everyone has forgotten how to do it when he's not there....

besides, being at the game requires some participation......not "worrying"

Those East/West ones have been dead for years. Actually the JETS chants occur 90% of the time after a TD.

That was my point. Bring it back!

    This serves 2 purposes:

    1) It steals the fire away from Ed for good, because seriously, once that started up, it would never die down again.

    2) We'd actually have Jets fans cheering when it mattered for once.

It's been a LONG time since I've been to the Meadowlands, but I remember the 2 fat guys (brothers I assume) in Klecko jerseys* in the upper corner of the endzone. They'd blow whistles, and toss candy to get everyones attention and start the chant.........

    JAAAAAAAAAAY EEEEEEEEEEEEE TEEEEEEEEEEEEEE ESSSSSSSSSSSS
    JETS JETS JETS

*I'm sure they're the only "fat guys with Klecko jerseys" ;)

It's just indicative of people and the world today. People now need the big screen to find someone to get the thing going. Just like we sit here doing this on the Internet, check e-mail on phones during timeouts, etc. Turn the fucking thing off and people will have to figure out how to do things on their own again. It could happen. Everyone got too reliant on the fucking TV screen.
