I watched in slow-motion on my dvr each play in the 4th quarter of the Ravens game. I also watched several from the first quarter of the Pats game. From what I can see Adrien Clark has looked quite good. He is a decent pass blocker but he seems to be an even more effective run blocker. He is big and strong and gets a good push. It is hard for me to make a direct comparison to Kendall since I don't have any tape from him. However, for what I have seen Clark looks pretty good.
Was he the one that put a big block on some1 coming up the middle late in the game.. Some1 on the line flattened one of the ravens rookies coming thru
No that was Brandon Moore. They even replayed it afterwards. I believe it was Bart Scott who came blitzing in and Moore de-cleated him.
I've yet to watch the ravens game in details but I watched the pats game.Clarke did have a nice first quarter when it came to run blocking but he made several mistakes when pass blocking. Also started making mistakes when run blocking during the rest of the game. Here are my notes on Clarke(broken down into how he did during each quarter): 1st Quarter Adrien Clarke has looked pretty good when run blocking. He can get to the second level and block someone, similar to Brandon Moore except he can maintain that hold. The pats targeted him on pass blocking, running stunts at his side and he often fell for them. He'd follow his man inside while the inside man would then run into the space that Clarke was meant to be protecting. This happened on almost on every play where Chad was pressured.I think this is something that comes with playing time and would probably help if we had a good veteran to okay alongside him. 2nd Quarter Adrien Clarke didn't look as good run blocking in this quarter,he whiffed on a block against Bruschi. He did get outside and managed to do enough to spring Leon Washington on his 16 yard screen play. 3rd Quarter Adrien Clarke has been a bit rough.Whiffed a block on Jarvis Green allowing to blow up a play. No notes on him for the 4th quarter. He was the 3rd worst player for the jets but he did flash potential,a lot of his mistakes were down to lack of experience.
He did a nice job recovering the Jones fumble. Not sure who made the blitz pick-up...the Baltimore Sun gave it to Clarke: "The best hit of the day was from Jets offensive guard Adrien Clarke against Scott in the first quarter on a running play. Not only did Clarke knock Scott off the ball about four yards, he finished him off with a shot that knocked off Scott's helmet. "Very seldom have hits by offensive linemen made ESPN's "Jacked Up" segment, but this one deserves to be there."
yea...the fumble recovery was huge i was in a bar...watching the game on mute...i hate not having the sound, but that was a great hit by whichever guard it was just as good as the one that happened to robertson last week when he got owned
clarke made a heads up play by jumping on the jones fumble. he did the right thing by falling on it and not trying to pick it up. too many fat lineman try to make a play with it and fail. im not impressed by his play on the line. its not just him, the left side of the line is crap...brick sucks...and clarke might be hurt by his play, or vice versa.
we have to remember that we were playing 2 of the most physical defensive lines in the league.... the line was thrown into a fire...and started to show signs of life against baltimore things can only get better... the ravens went blitz happy...and late in the game clemens DID have time against the ravens blitz which i was impressed by justin mccareins just let us down encouraging game but the dolphins defense will be a big test as well...despite the 37 the cowboys put up...the defense held romo in check...green's 4 ints were the difference maker i think that we are going to have to pass to set up the run again this year...rather than the preffered run to set up the pass
I am assuming you did not watch yesterdays game because I am wondering how you can come to the conclusion he sucks after yesterday.
he is getting better each game so far hes young give him a chance mangin bounced back and forth instead of just staying with him. this line is going ot be together for a long time except for clement so let see where it is in a few weeks.
The play that the Baltimore Sun is referring to must be different from the one we're talking about. Brandon Moore laid out a Raven LB on a passing down in the fourth quarter.....
I thought Clark looked better than Brick. I think Brick was pretty good in pass protection, as was Clark. However, Clark gets a much better push in the run game. This is kind of sad considering how they both came into the league.
Is this a serious post? Clarke looked good on pass plays? Please tell me because I missed the part of the game where he was better than Brick. I must have watched a completely different game because Brick was covering for Clark almost the entire game. Clark sucks From another intelligent poster. Maybe if it is seen enough people will actually watch the line and then post:
