Brad Smith should be the new #3 and, if he can't catch the damn ball, put Wright in there.

Oh gimmie a break. This is the exact thread that makes me sick. Yeah, he should have caught that. It's one play. Stop scapegoating one guy. Once again, they didn't deserve to win. Defense awful. Special teams for some reason awful. Clemens was great in the fourth quarter.

Actually it was two. Two chances for him to be the hero. Two chances he let slip through his fingers. Open your eyes, CLEMENS WAS GREAT IN THE FOURTH AND JUSTIN MADE HIM LOOK LIKE SHIT.

The second one isn't really catchable.

The second one was not only catchable, it was perfectly thrown. High and to the left, just out of the defender's reach. If I thought that Smith or Wright were capable WR's I would sign the "dump J-Mac" petition, I just don't think they are.

obviously, you can't pin an entire loss on one guy.

but, goddamn, he really cost us.

What exactly do they have to live up to replacing McCareins? He has what 2 catches this year and 3 drops? I mean it's not like he's been producing out of that position what's the worse that could happen trying someone else there?

I have no problem making him a fourth or fifth option, moving behind Smith and/or Wright on the depth chart. I just don't think we have the depth to outright release him. I've never seen anything from Wright to indicate he would be a serviceable 3rd receiver, and I don't think Smith is there yet. I think Stuckey is our best receiving prospect, but he's on IR.

I would love to see Baker get more looks. I think he's so underrated as a receiver.

I'm not sure about Smith as a straight up slot WR either but when faced with a choice between a guy who has proven himself to suck and one that might suck I know which one I'll prefer every time.

I mainly agree with you. I guess I'm just arguing that McCareins is a half-step above useless, as opposed to completely useless.

When will the coaches and GM realize that a piece of sh-t is and always will be a piece o sh-t? You can't turn a piece of sh-t into a quality (or even average) NFL receiver. I wish someone on the team (a player preferably) would have the guts to call out McCareins for how his pisspoor play has cost this team time after f'ing time....year after year....regular season....playoffs

The guy can't make routine catches and chokes in the clutch every single fu-king time....

I've never seen Smith or Wright pull up on a route the way JMac does. Tennesee must be laughing all the way to the bank after they robbed us of JMac. Ok so they drafted Travis LaBoy who isn't anything great but some of the guys that were on the board with that pick.

    Bob Sanders
    Julius Jones
    Jake Grove
    Justin Smiley
    Tank Johnson

    Hindsight certainly is 20/20

That second pass attempt to JM at the end reminded me of Montana to Clark, minus Montana and Clark.

His contract is guaranteed boys... We're paying him whether we cut him or not, so we may as well keep him, but just drop him down on the depth chart.
