Just thought it would be interesting to see where you all stand on this issue.

After all the press Spygate is getting I think it would be a huge mistake for the Jets to ever get caught doing it themselves. Belly will be tring to catch the jets doing it forever.

Edit: By stealing Signs I mean breaking the NFL rules in reguard to picking up the oposing teams signs.

Whatever. Do I think we do it? No. Could we be doing it? Of course.

Will Mangini ever be stupid enough to do it to the Pats? Never.

Jack Del Rio was quoted in my local newspaper the Orlando Sentinel. He said that basically all coaching staffs look at other team's sidelines to try and get some hints. And he continue's to say what New England is doing by video taping drastically changes the dynamics of the game.

I think all teams try to get an edge ,I think if you trying to do it by sight with the guys you have on the sideline it`s onething .I thing if your teying to record the teams signs to review them later to steal signs and get a edge thats way wrong.

I definitely think mangini has someone taking picture or charting signs. hell he probably has 3 people doing that. nfl has already stated that stealing signs isnt against the rules, in fact the nfl has not once said that the pats cheated to get an advantage in this game. In fact they all say the opposite that it didnt have any bearing on the game at all. the violation o of the rules was having the camera on the field. hell they could have been taping the cheerleaders and still would have been found in violation of breaking the rules

No way this is a team of high quality character guys. Even Simms commented on how much bigger the Pats are than we are. We don't cheat, we don't take steroids or HGH and our OL men eat salads.

We have absolutely no way of answering this question, so why ask it?

no, you you still have to have talent and someone that can break down the film. signs change every quarter, and if a team is dumb enough to keep the same signs for the whole season they deserve to go 3-13. remember stealing signs is not illegal, because you still have to decipher what the signs mean. unless you happen to have the game plan as well

I was asking what you think, not what you can prove! I was looking to see if people feel that we are (the Jets) just innocent bystanders in this whole mess.

The thought that occured to me was how horrible it would be if the Jets get caught doing this after we blew the whistle of Belly.

NE "supposedly" went far beyond the normal "glancing over at the other team's sideline". He video taped Defensive hand signals, with the video man talking into the camcorder (down and distance). The video tape was confiscated at half time while it was headed into the NE locker room for analysis. Being able to tell Brady what the Defense was planning (safety blitz, LB blitz, M2M, C2, etc) is an enourmous advantage. NE has even been accused of micing their center's helmet to record the audiables barked out by the MLB. NE violated radio frequencies, most likely to listen to the calls going out to the opposing QB's helmet. It just goes on and on.

    Your question is poorly constructed.
I voted "yes" because I believe the Jets and all NFL teams attempt to "steal" signs, etc.
However there is a fundamental difference between "stealing" signs and circumventing the NFL rules & policy to do so.
The Pats did/are doing what every team does in stealing signs.
The difference is that they got caught violating NFL rules & policies about HOW that was done.

There is a specific NFL policy against using recording devices, etc to film the opposing team during the game. That is what the Patriots got caught doing.

Heck if they reviewed game film provided by the NFL or broadcasts (like the Dolphins did last year) and were able to break the code or pick up an opposing teams "tell", more power to them.

But like everything with the Patriot franchise, they continue to push the envelop with the rules and they finally got caught red-handed.

What is particularly galling about this is their arrogance and blatant disregard in getting caught.

As for the its impact during the game? I have no idea - it could have been some/none/alot for all we know.

What I do know is the Jets lost and they better be prepared to play next week against a very good defensive team.

I also know the Patriots got busted and will pay the price. I hope the price is high as a deterrent to potential future offenders.

You are right I should have said break the NFL rules on what can and cannot be done to steal signs. I will edit my first post but I do not know how to fix the wording on the survey!

the tape was confiscated halfway through the 1st quarter, and Im sorry but you cant analyze a tape in 8 minutes. especially if you dont know what the game plan is. where the tape comes into play is when you match it up to the game tape on monday. remember most teams have 3 coaches sending in signals and only one is the correct signal so itstill takes time to decipher it

You can "THINK" all you want but the NFL "HAS EVIDENCE" on belicheck we don`t have to think he cheated "WE KNOW HE DID" plus he was warned before ,now if bill was stupid enough to try it again on a guy who knew what he was doing ,he desrves what ever he gets
