no, the game was NOT lost because of this guys.......we have more problems on the field than a dang videotape.

in fact - if the JETS were filming the pats staff the score likely would have been the same.

People, lets not forget that we play THE SAME DEFENSE as NE. So if they know the play, they pretty much know exactly how to defend it, and have practiced against the exact same play in practice. It IS A BIG DEAL. It is not much far removed from an officiating scandal. And it definitely would give NE a huge advantage in the game-they never had to face any mismatches. I think the Jets would be right to press for a forfeit of the game.

Clayton said perhaps 2nd round or 5th round picks.

Take away their 1st round, and I am happy. Although somehow, some way, the Pats later draft picks will wind up being pro-bowl players in their career. They have that luck.

But seriously, I'll be happy if the punishment is taking away a 1st round pick.

Well if they did gain an advantage that helped them pickup all of our blitzes there's no telling what might have happened. Pressure could have led to turnovers, drives being stopped, any number of things. The bottom line is that the result of the game is tainted because the Pats cheated.

They don't need to take draft picks. The punishment should fit the crime: Goodell should bar the Patriots from having anybody other than uniformed personnel and coaches on their sideline and having anybody on the opposing sideline and should bar the Patriots from having ANYBODY at the park use a video camera.

That'd be the right move to make.

I am floored. Never expected anything to come of this. Really interested to see what the actual penalty is. Also, wondering what Pats fans have to say.

I still think they would have won the game. Whats amazing too, is that the teams that are accusing them are the Lions, Packers, and Jets. Three teams that really are not up to the Pats ability / talen wise.

take it a step further and have every Pats coach and player (when not on the field) wear a three-corner cap like the Patriot in the old logo for the rest of the season to make them easily identifiable.

The Patriots and specifically Bill Bellichick are garbage. They piss me off so much and this just makes it so much worse. Pathetic really. Not as bad as the Jets fans on Sunday though. ha ha.

Why is no one talking about this?

Irregularities in the communications setup? Using a number of radio frequencies? Were they listening in to the play call that the coaches were radioing into Chad's helmet? WTF is this about?

The Patriots, with all their talent, should not have to resort to cheating to win. No penalty other than a forfeit will help the Jets any.

This article from Early August mentions him at the end under "Film Fanatics". I think it is funny what the "league officials" say about the patriots video crew.

That is exactly what I was thinking, more along the lines of monitering the coaches radios to see what they were planning or thinking about specific plays or formations.
