just saw that. it's an awful segment to have in the first place, but even worse when your fans are being pointed out on tv for cheering one of their own players getting hurt.
I cheered when he got hurt but in the standing ovation type of way.. I didn't realize that it looked like I was cheering that he got hurt.
hard to believe Vick got no love from this crowd. It would seem from today's exhibition, he would be the type of guy we (Jets fans at today's game) would get behind
It was a total embarrassment. This isn't about Olberman or Tiki. They are 1,000% correct. Absolutely mind boggling and made alot of Jet fans look bad.
In what ways are we the best? I'd agree Jets fans are more passionate than both those teams fans by far, but there's a lot more teams in the league than them. I don't like Olberman, but he's completely right here.
I was disgusted by seeing this piece, just as I was disgusted while at the game. My wife, my dad, and I were among the maybe 10k ppl that gave him a standing ovation when he came back into the game. This was not my only peeve about the fans today. I was sitting at a tailgate from about 9:30 to 12:30, and there was a group of complete a-hole jets fans that kept on heckling every Pats fan that walked by. In particular, there was a guy with a Justin Miller jersey who physically threw beer and other stuff on Pats fans, including women and kids. These ppl did nothing to provoke them at all, except to walk by. They were ppl being dropped off from busses. Some of our fan base makes me sick. Show a little class people.
you can't cheer chads injury, but intimidating pat scum is A-OK! make them never want to step into that stadium and wear a patriots jersey ever again.
Unfortunately there's no mistaking why some of the other "fans" were cheering. They're not fans, they're pigs. I'm disgusted and embarrassed. Point is, anyone who cheers when anyone gets hurt - and I mean anyone - on any team, EVER should be ashamed of themselves. And, say what you will about Chad, he gives his heart to this team, and this is how some saw fit to treat him. Classless and horrid. EDIT: And to the other rocky (rockyusmc), glad you're home.
Getting in ppl's faces, cussing them out for no reason, and throwing shit at women and kids IS NOT OK.
We have to do something to intimidate teams from wanting to come to Giants Stadium ever again! Throw away!
It's a nice thought but you really can't prove that. Also, the last time I checked, Chad Pennington was part of the team that we love. Never would have known it today. I don't think the fans would have cheered like that if Brady went down. Thats what makes it so much harder to stomach.
We're in no way the best fans .. or even loyal. That was just beyond classless.. It would've been classless to do it if Brady snapped an ACL, but to do it when Chad hurts himself really makes me wonder..
