Time to say bye bye toDavid Barrett. He has been a liability every season, and only looked decent when we had a good pass rush, but we don't have one and he is showing his stripes. Every time Moss lined up against him they threw to Moss because he was wideopen every damn time. He got beaton the first TD as well. Ditch barrett and never let Miller play CB.....I'd rather have Poteat in there, atleast he is a vet.

Most of all, forget the 3-4. WE can't play it. The best players on the defense aregood in a 4-3 defense, so it doesn't matter what the 3-4 has to offer if you can't do shit when you useit. We stopped Maroney the best when there were 4 down linemen. Stickin with the wrong defense for this team seriously makes me question the common sense of this coachin staff.

Here's to an 0-2 start, at least.

There's no way this Dollar Store O-line will be able to handle the Ravens.

Next week is gonna be real ugly. Hopefully Chad isn't hurt too bad.

I never like Barrett. People on this board were calling for him to be our starting RCB... I think he's terrible

I thought that the d-line as a group played better when Sione Pouha was in instead of Robertson. Also you may want to add Vilma to the list of things to do away with if we do not do away with the 3-4 which is more probable.

Maybe we need to operate out of the shotgun more to give Chad some damn time to throw the football.

Anyone know what was wrong with Dyson? Revis played well so maybe when we get him back we could have at least a managable set of corners.

Agreed!!! 3-4 has to go. enough is enough. barrett is slow as molasses. There's has to be a lot of changes or we are going to be embarrased time after time this season. It's not going to matter if we got Broadway under center if our o-line plays like it did today!!! Absolutely disgusting. The only good thing about today is that Miami just lost in overtime.

Well exactly, but what I cannot understand is that they have a pro-bowl calibre MLB whol is still in his rookie contract and excels in a 4-3......they are completely wasting that talent. If he went elsewhere he would dominate, and I guarantee this will happen. If Mangini is all about using players in ways that they willperform the best and help the team the most, then why the hell are they not doing it?

Yep, Barrett blows and has for some time now. People try to defend him every year but he is just not that good.

Unfortunately for Vilma, this is not the NBA. You can't change your entire coaching philosophy for 1 or 2 players. There are 50 or so other guys on the roster; Vilma will have to be the one that goes. The biggest issue is holding on to him too long, to the point that you do not receive value back for him when you do finally part ways.

Absolutely right, the thing that separates good NFL teams from bad ones is that they assemble the personnel for their package and then endure the ups and downs to keep the players that work in that package.

Bill Cowher and the Steelers is the best example of this. The Steelers lived through down years to assemble the right people for his 3-4. Then they lived through off years after that to maintain the personnel.

With the Jets they're really going to have to resolve the Vilma thing because it's pretty clear at this point that he does not work in a 3-4. D-Rob is another story and I don't know what the Jets do there because he might work as a 3-4 DE, although a very short one.
