Tom Rock, of Newsday, reports New York Jets RB Thomas Jones (calf) is expected to practice Monday, Sept. 3

This is great news to hear. Hopefully he will be in good enough shape for New England.

The Jets need all the help they can get, and Jones is a big part of that. :)

7 days to go and I'm getting pretty pumped for the NE game- this is great news, I have a feeling Jones has been in pretty good shape for at least a week- he must be champing at the bit- go get em Floyd!

If he practices, he's playin' in the band.

They absolutely need him if they hope that all cylinders start clicking.

I hope so. I don't see why bonafide starters have to go through all the rigmaroll of pres season anyway.

He is the only person to take the pressure off of Chad and keep NE honest the whole game-- he needs to be ready for this one and Baltimore.

Chad can take the pressure off of Chad if he throws up the field outside from the get go.

According to ESPN.com, Richard Seymour was put on the PUP by the Patriots, meaning he's out the first six weeks of the season. With Seymour and Harrison out of the opener, it should provide some holes for our offense...

Not really... Jarvis Green will fill Seymore's spot easily. At least for the pass run anyway.

Yeah, that comes off a little wrong. I meant that Jarvis Green is no walkover, he's better than many DE's in the game. He could start at many teams.

Agreed twombles, but having a choice I would rather face Jarvis then Richard..If you watch RS closely during games he is unbelievable at plugging 2 gaps and causing havoc at the LOS..It can only help having one of the best DL guys in the NFL out for the game.

Oh yeah, for sure. Richard Seymour is a beast! Best 3-4 DE in the league. He doesn't rush the passer that much, but that's only because he usually eats up two blockers, and the outside linebacker makes the sack. He's one of the reasons Rose Colvin, TBC, and Junior Seau made their sacks.
