Just a note about the McCareins TD last night.... And let me just begin by saying I do not want to make this a "Chad Must Go" thread, rather just an observation. That throw, on that hook McCareins ran, by Clemens, had a perfect amount of zip behind it, and got there quickly enough that JMac had a chance to make those moves after the catch. Earlier in the game, FOX showed the replay of the exact same route thrown by Chad, and completed. I don't remember exactly who caught the ball. But anyway, when Chad threw it, the ball came in so slowly that Aikman even said that the DB, who was playing the same depth as the DB on the JMac TD, could have picked it if he had gone for the ball. Instead he came in quickly and made the hit, resulting in a short gain. The point is, that good things happen when the ball gets into the hands of the WRs quickly. They don't take huge hits, and they have opportunities to make plays after the catch. If we want to take full potential of the incredible talent we have in our WR corps, the ball needs to start getting to them faster, end of story
You get to the point I made all last year to the McCareins bashers. He is a good receiver when there is a QB that can get him the ball in stride. On almost every play last year that went his way he was either under thrown or overthrown. There is no way a receiver can look good under those circumstances.
Ironic that McAyeCarumba! becomes a highlight of the game. I'm thinking the cat dashing across the field late in the fourth ran a close second. Of course I yelled out, "Sign him!" The cat, of course.
I remember that throw. If the DB was going for the ball, it was another TD. I have always thought that if Chad had an arm, he would be so much more deadly. But he is so smart, that it would be hard to bench him now. Give the guy a chance, and just be glad Clemens looks good enough that he could possibly start.
Weak arm and all CP is a top 10 QB in this league. Baring injury, don't look for Clemens any time soon.
Clemens was the 3rd best looking QB on the field for the Jets, and Chad was a distant 4th. I like them both, but I saw nothing from Clemens last night that makes him a starter over Chad. Smith and Tui looked better than the both of them.
I'm starting to doubt this. If chad makes such smart decisions, then why did he throw those 2 picks? The first one was right to the defender, the 2nd one was just a stupid decision, you just take the sack there. If that was so smart, he wouldn't have made those throws.
Are you f*cking kidding me? Anyone in the league for 7 years is going to look good against the future bartenders on the roster. Tui looking better than the poor bastards who are going to be bringing me my dinner at Charlie Brown's trying to figure out what the hell they can actualy do with their general studies and communications degrees is not too much of an accomplishment. Let's at least try to keep the comparisons in perspective.
I just don't know about that. I mean if I had to pick a QB to play in a game tomorrow, I'd 100% rather have: Manning Brady Palmer Brees McNabb Bulger Hasselbeck I'd probably rather have or be happy substituting: Rivers Cutler Favre Leinart Young Roethlisberger Eli McNair
Chad and Clemens played essentially against/with the same group of players as each other, albeit a few of the subs were in when Clemens entered. Smith and Tui, while impressive, performed against subs. Against even competition, Clemens thoroughly outplayed Chadwick
We should save some pages and just make a “He just had a bad game” Sticky thread…this way all the Chad-a-boys have a place to seek refuge and rationalize his poor play.
Reactionary, thoughtless threads like this give Jets fans a bad name. Can any of you think beyond the last thirty seconds? There is no decision to be made here.
Someone is making alot of sense here. Thanks. got a question for the group. How can this oline argument stand up when we had 167 rushing yards (19 more than vikes) 181 passing yards (vs 72 for vikes) controlled the clock 34.37 vs 25.23 for vikes. Now int's. both of Chads were just bad plays on behalf of CP. KC was because of Stucky not catching the ball in his hands. I can't understand those arguing that we should put talent around CP. Why does KC put up points with the same talent/team on the field. Same o-line, receivers, less Jones at running back. Does KC's 31 for 22 for 230 yrds and 4 TD and 1 int. mean anything? Chad better watch his back before he suffers from a bledso-clot.
