Or Chad can prepare now for surgery #3. The pass protection is horrible. The D line wa scrap too. hopefully this is just an off night.

These bastards can't even snap the frickin ball!! Brick is like a pinwheel getting abused at LT. I know Minnys D was pretty good last year but the play of our O-line was really shameful

  3. Actually aside from one play in which the ball shouldve already been released Brick played very well and was our best lineman.

The lines doesn't need to eat more, they have players that just aren't good. Brandon Moore is horrible. Clement is a career backup who the Jets have coached up and turned into a decent player. By no means is he anything more then average and he's so tall he can't get any leverage. I really have no idea if Clarke is a player or just another backup. We have two lineman that I like Brick and Mangold. Brick is a solid player but nothing great at this point.

Kurt, C'mon now. That one sack Brick got turnstiled on a speed rush. That turnstile is still spinning. To add insult to injury, that wasn't even Minny's first string DE.

Is Kendall engaging in sabotage? I would hate to think so, but he's never snapped like that in TC.

Remembering that Minny has an excellent run D, the Jets O is getting to predictable knowing Pennington can't throw the deep ball, even when he gets time. They are cheating up and taking away the short stuff.

I've said it before... we're looking at an 8-8 season. One of two things has to get fixed:

    1. We need an O line that can run block... or...

    2. We need a QB that can throw deep.

Right now, we have neither, and it's very hard to put up points in the NFL with those two glaring weaknesses on offense.

  8. yes, he got turned around on that play....the guy made a good not grea move and Brick fell for it. W/ that said, Chad still had 3 seconds to release the ball and did not.

Aside from that play, I think you'd agree that brick played very well, including against some bull rushes.

The dink and dunk bull$#@% has got to stop. They aren't going to go very far this year if all we are going to see is 5 yard passes that My 8 year old kid can pick. I still have a lot of confidence in Chad but if this is the range of his Ruperta then we got problem's Houston! The O-line opened 0 holes and once again the D looked out classed by 2nd tiered player ; that was are 1st string players out there in the 2nd quarter! totally unacceptable! I know its preseason but thank god for that!

Clarke was just absolutely whiffing on some blocks, how you can do this when the man you are supposed to block is lined up directly in front of you, close enough so that you can practically see his fillings, I do not know. If it wasn't official before tonight, the battle for the stating LG spot (if it was ever a true battle) was absolutely decided tonight.

The only guy with some life tonight was Mangold. Brick is starting to worry me. Clements is what he is, average. Moore is trash. I've thought that now for 2 years. He's undersized, he's an average pass protector, and he gives almost no push in the running game. That said, they were going up against one of the best defensive lines in the league. So all things in perspective, what could you expect?

Yo dude.....I don't know what u consider playing good.....But he has played much better. He was consistently bad 2-nite. Actually the whole OL looked terrible...cause they are. Even Mangold was being handled. Maybe the Vikings are just that good up front.

  12. All i know is that aside from one play....he blocked his man every single time. I can only go by what I see...and b/c Brick is one of my biggest concerns this offseason..I watched him very closely....he graded out pretty well aside from one play.

Maybe this is true as far as his pass protection is concerned, but he was pitiful trying to run block. He can't hold a block, and he can't drive his man off the line, until he learns to put some serious weight on he's going to continue to falter in this area.

  14. They had a few plays where instead of him blocking a guy head on....he went to the second level and blocked the first defender he saw. I thought he was pretty impressive in that instant and the running plays were generally successful.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: he's never gonna be a great drive blocker in the running game. I said long before he was even drafted. Brick gets paid the big bucks to pass protect, tonight he generally did that well.

I was @ the game and was particularly heated @ D'Brick.
He was below average and was struggling big time today.

Any1 that thinks that D'Brick played well yesterday knows absolutely nothing about football. I'm not saying he isn't a good player, but he was horrible yesterday.

It is so obvious though and for people that record/tivo check this out. Series 1 & 3 Clarke was LG and offensive line was horrible especially Clarke and D'Brick. Series 2 & 4 Kendall was LG and offensive line play was quantom leaps better.

I know the Jets don't give in alah Revis contract, but I hope that they swallow their pride and pay Kendall. He will be key this year.

About Defense, from top to bottom I think they played poorly. Ellis getting pressure on the qb was encouraging and Coleman read the deap throw nice to break up play was a good play. Vilma was by far our worst LB.

I chalk it up to 1 bad game and it being PreSeason is a good time for it.

I wonder if our book has any pass plays that go for more than 10 yards. Actually, more than 9.

wow you guys are killing brick! i thought he played pretty well...and he was downfeild a bit on a few of the run plays. he got twisted on the one play, but outside of that the guy did a solid job.

enough with the clarke crap already...i think sending a message to kendall isnt going to help anybody. hes getting paid to start, and he should. the FO should just give him half of what hes asking for, and everyone wins. they didnt buckle to a demand, and kendall gets to keep some dignity. this whole bullshit contract thing is too much...especially when theyve already said they have no plans to release or trade him.

i like the addition of reivis, but i would have really loved to see the addition of grubbs or blaylock. i know secondary was a concearn, but especially when we got TJ our run blocking should have become prioity. i really hope that we find someone with kendall like skill after the cuts come down, because we need a boost like that for out interior.

I agree with Kowie, Kendall needs to start. Clarke was getting obliterated.

Enough with the passive-aggressive treatment of Kendall. He still gives 100% despite the contract dispute and is a marked upgrade over Clarke.
