Jets closing in on deal with first-round pick Darrelle Revis By DENNIS WASZAK Jr., AP Sports Writer August 14, 2007 HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) -- The New York Jets and first-round draft pick Darrelle Revis were closing in on a deal Tuesday night that would end the touted cornerback's lengthy training camp holdout. "We've made major, substantial progress," Revis' agent, Neil Schwartz, told The Associated Press. "We're working on it right now." Schwartz was at the Jets' headquarters at Hofstra University late Tuesday night discussing a deal with general manager Mike Tannenbaum. Schwartz was uncertain if an agreement would be struck sometime Tuesday night or early Wednesday. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-jets-revis&prov=ap&type=lgns

The Detroit Free Press reports Atlanta Falcons QB Joey Harrington said he received death threats while as a member of the Detroit Lions and that games got so bad, he had to take his family out of the stands because fans wanted to fight his mother. "I got that very, very rarely to my face. I got a lot of people who would leave notes. I got a couple of death threats on my voicemail. It got to the point where I had to take my family out of the stands because people were trying to start fights with my mom," Harrington said in an interview with cbs.sportsline.com. This has nothing to do with Revis, but kind of funny. Poor Harrington.
Mangini Video on Revis Don't know if this has been already posted..... http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80182c03
I wonder if Tannenbaum or Schwarz took a break during the all nighter to change their underwear? Negotiations like this tend to get a little funky.
