Yes Network put out a great video of Ian Kennedy. It is a good combination of him pitching and him talking about it. He makes some excellent points about himself and the Yankees. http://www.yesnetwork.com/media/player/mp_...pe=v_free&_mp=1 He reminds me a little of Mussina, anyone else get this feeling or am I completely on my own?
He does, it looks like he has better movement on his fastball then Mussina did, even in his hay day. It almost looks like a cutter or a two seamer because it slides towards the plate if he throws it towards the outside corner. Very similar pitch selection to Mussina with a changeup, knucklecurve, fastball, slider and the beginnings of a two seam.
hopefully the three young guys can get together and work together. Imagine if Joba could help Hughes re-discover his slider? Or if Hughes could teach Joba the curve. And Kennedy could help both of them with the change-up.
Word is that Kennedy might get the start on Tuesday...that would mean that their two first round picks from last year would make it to the majors in their first full season in the pros (while pitching at least one start at each level).
It was true but if this article is right then it will be Karstens now. http://www.nypost.com/seven/0812200...could_start_vs__birds_yankees_george_king.htm I thought Karstens had a blister that caused him to come out early in his last start. They usually last more then four days but I guess he's a quick healer.
