If there was a draft for head coaches, where do you think Mangini, Belichick, and Herman would each be drafted?

Taking into account age along with how good I perceive the 32 HCs to be, Mangini would be high atop the list.

I'd put him up there with Fisher, Dungy, and Payton. I think Reid is also good, but below those four. Gruden would also be worth a look, although I have some problems with him.

I'd stay away from Gibbs, Belichick, Holmgren, and Shanahan based on age.

I think Linehan, Tomlin, and Whisenhunt have a chance to be top notch head coaches. The other newer head coaches don't really stand out right now.

Edwards would be way down on my list. Turner and Jauron are clearly worse head coaches. Del Rio is not really good. I don't expect much from Cameron.

    Interesting topic. I would go

    1. Bellicheck
    2. Reid
    3. Dungy
    4. Mangini
    5. Fisher
    6. Peyton
    7. Billick
    8. Holmgren
    9. Shanahan (who I think is overrated but he has the record)

Then it's kind of a mess but I definitely would not be looking at Herm until at least 20.

    1 Belichick
    2 Shanahan
    3 Billick
    4 Dungy
    5 Gruden

    Herm...probably top 15. Mangini...somewhere in the early/mid 20s.

I would draft an offensive coordinator first and sign Cowher via Free Agency.

If age is a factor, Mangini's definitely goes in the top 5. Guys like Shanahan and Holmgren are very good coaches, but getting up there in years. Right now Belichick is clearly the best coach in the NFL so I think he goes top 3 even with his age.

In the NFL, the goal always has to be to win now, since anything really can happen and players move around so much. So Belichik would still go one regardless of age.

That?s a pretty good list overall ? but Mangini 4th after a 10 ? 6 season where we basically beat up bad teams? C?mon man?I like Mangini but he still has a lot to prove.

Kind of reminds me of back in the day when we (supposedly) should have rebuilt the franchise around Donnie Henderson after a season?
