It's called the domino effect, nitwit. With those three guys out, lesser players had to play earlier in the game. You kill Clemens by saying he was playing against people who will be on the street next month, but you fail to mention that Harrington was also not facing the Jets at full strength.

Comeon you know jets blitzes packages last year where alot more complex than that. Patriots had alot of trouble with them in regular season, made adjustments with blitz pickups and exposed Jets defense for what it is. (should see alot of teams use that same blueprint)

The pointb is when you have to rely on sending extra defenders to apply pressure, you leave your self vulnerable, if that blitz is picked up.

Memo to those who are new to this website and/or new to Raiderjoe-

Take his comments and predictions with a grain of salt and laugh at them.

Raiderjoe was the same guy who, hours before the Week 16 KC-OAK game said he would not watch it because he knew the Raiders would win 20-13 and that Larry Johnson would not gain 100 yards.

    Chiefs 20, Raiders 9
    Johnson- 135 yards rushing

I thought we were talking about the preseason game Joe? If you watched the Pats/Jets playoff game, it was a 1 score game until late in the 3rd quarter when the Jets offense gave up turnovers giving the Pats the game.

I'm not saying the Jets D is top notch, I'm simply rebutting your ridiculous assessment of the preseason game. I'm also not going to argue with you anymore.

I love it. Miller is getting good reports because he knows the offense well. And even when he doesn't know the offense well, Chad is so bad that he floats passes up that Miller can get to.

We win 31-16, run the ball virtually every down early on, yet Jeaux is still contradicting his way to trying to figure out why the Jets still somehow suck.

Even at Oregon Kellen had happy feet. He was always dancing around in the pocket. I think its just the way he plays. I wouldnt let that worry you to much.

My thoughts on the 1st preseason game

No one was hurt. So it was an unmitigated and extraordinary success.

    Bender did real good.

I liked alot Harris, he was in on ever tackle just about.

Wade is very elusive and Banks is a down hill runner.

It would be nice if Simeon Rice agreed to be a stand up pass rusher with us.

A lot of good things happened though friday....... Jets will be good again.

Okay Listen How many times have we heard in training camp Player A is playing very well and is talk of training camp. Than preseason starts and playerA in question dosen't look so good(happens alot in training camp - to almost every team) .

Until we see it in an actual game that justin" I can't cover anyone" Miller covering WR more consistant, Im not buying those reports. The Guy been a great kickreturner and a lousy cornerback.

You don't think Revis holdout situation might play into why Jets coaching staff talking up Justin Miller . Lets see Justin miller playing like garbage, what does that do to Revis bargaining position. HMMM Mangini 101
How convenient that Justin miller hurt, that we can't see how good his coverage skills have improved. something dosen't smell right.

Again show me what I said, that you disagree with about Jets preseason game. Jets had a pass rush? Jets didn't make Harrington look good? There wasn't some big holes Falcons Rbs exploited, K Clemens alot of Jet fans are overrating his performance against third and fourth stringers. (I believe his longest pass was that horrible duck that Jets Wr pass interference on- Luck.
Jets special teams units were awesome.

Alright Joe, I said I'm not going to argue with you anymore, but I just watched the first quarter of the game (finally) and want to share my thoughts based on our "conversation" here.

I actually thought our first string defense played pretty well with the exception of the TD drive the Falcons got. Even on that drive, Harrington actually made a few really good throws to beat the defense. Rhodes was beat by 1 step on two medium/deep range passes over the middle in man coverage and Harrington zipped the ball into a perfect spot where only the receiver could catch it. The receivers also made very nice catches to get the ball.

The Norwood TD run was against a vanilla defense that would never be run in that situation in a regular season game, but there was more than one gaping hole for him to slip though. Let's not forget that the falcons are one of the better rushing teams in the NFL and Norwood read the zone blocking perfectly. This was the only time I saw "gaping holes" to run through.

There was consistently pressure on Harrington whenever we sent a 4th and 5th guy. He was forced to throw early a number of times.

I haven't seen Clemens yet, that comes after the 1st quarter.

If anyone watches the torrent or re-watches the game, have a look at Chad after Leon's big return at the need of the first quarter.....everyone is congratulating Leon and Chad doesn't even turn around even though Chad's right behind him...then he walks right by him and doesnt say anything...

Pouha didnt do much in the first Q....didnt look bad but didn't look great...

I thought Brick's run blocking was pretty good except on one play where he got beat....(Leon run to the left)

I don't like this new way of saying Pouha....it's Poo-ha

Clemens did well against the Falcon's second team.

The offensive line did not impress me at all. I think we have a real issue there and I think we'll see it highlighted in a glaring red outline week 1 against the Pats.

The run D held up ok in the first quarter. The 10 yard TD run up the middle sucked, because that's not supposed to happen to a good D, but other than that they seemed to be on target.
