This is great news that he can get his velocity to this so far

Here's to a healthy Pedro

At this rate, he might even be up to 92-94 mph by the time it's time to come back to the big club. If he can come back and be effective, it will be a bigger boost to this team than any acquisition that any team make at the deadline.

That is being unrealistic, getting up to 90 would be good though

It's more extremely optimistic than unrealistic from my POV :)

In all honesty, I'd be very happy even if he just gets up to 90, which in all likelihood he will. This is basically spring training for him and most pitchers seem to gain a good 2-5 MPH on their pitches by the end.

Agreed. Honestly, I wouldn't put too much stock into the velocity of Pedro. We've seen how masterful he was in 05 and the first half of 06 despite basically being only in the 88 mph range. The key to Pedro's success will be his command.

He knows how to pitch, i think this will make the mets staff very good for the post season.

The results are meaningless, the only thing that matters right now is how his arm responds to throwing 67 pitches..

The best thing to take from that is 5 Ks and no walks. As long as he has his location, he'll be fine.

If this was the line for Clemens, you guys would be blasting him. Just saying.

When you have ESPN showing minor league games just for Clemens when he is the highest paid part-time player in the league it is a little different from someone who is recovering from surgery, also there is a difference between having that line in the 1st rehab stint and his last rehab stint

I do not see anything wrong with it.

I suggest you read through this:

Right, the fact that he was throwing strikes is what we should be looking for here. Only the last 2 or so rehab starts should we be worrying about the actual results run-wise.

Not that I would blast him, but it's a completely different situation. One guy's coming off rotator cuff surgery and hasn't pitched in over a year, the other someone was healthy enough and was just deciding whether or nor he wanted to pitch. On top of that, his rehab was covered as if the Yankees had successfully cloned Whitey Ford in his prime and he was making those rehab starts.
