You have to take into account the situation, the pitcher had thrown 8 straight balls and then threw 2 more to start off Alou before being pulled. I just wish Alou had shown a little more restraint. Even with the new pitcher in you've got to take to 2 strikes unless it's an absolutely perfect pitch to hit(it wasn't) because of the way the guy has been calling balls and strikes all game.

You're right, we should be emotionless after a loss like that. Good friggin call. It's not like we're saying it's the end of the world, or we're saying we're going to miss the playoffs, or anything like that. We are expressing frustration at Moises Alou because he sucks and is a rally killer. You're always acting so god damn high and mighty over the rest of us, but this time, we're not even all pessimistic, we're talking about how that loss blew balls because it was frustrating to watch the Mets not take advantage of the fact the Brewers were doing their best to hand us the game, just like we did in the 8th and 9th innings, and didn't take advantage. If anything, Mets fans should hate you. You don't have any right to even say it after this game, just shut the hell up. We care about the Mets, we're passionate. Sometimes, we are probably over the top with our doom and gloom, but we're just discussing last night's freaking game, talking about what could have happened. Unless, of course, you have some pathetic man crush for Moises Alou? Maybe that's it? The guy fucking sucks. Like 3rd and 15 said, he's hit into 9 DP's in 124 at bats... which says something, it's August 1st and he has 124 at bats. We CAN criticize Willie, too, by the way. Nobody's perfect, yeah, but it's not like anybody is calling for his head or anything right now, we're just talking about what we think should have happened. Maybe you don't want to join the discussion about the game and the strategy and shit, but get off your damn high horse already, stop talking down to us because we're upset over the loss. God damn, it's so unnecessary, nobody was saying "OMG WE SUCK" "BRAVES ARE WINNING THE DIVISION" "WE SCREWED UP THE TRADE DEADLINE" etc. etc. It's a god damn simple discussion about last night's game. Please, tell me what was said that warranted your response. Please, do it.

Not only that, but Marvin Jones was a complete crap player. He was a sideline to sideline linebacker who couldn't go sideline to sidleine after getting injured 5 games into his NFL career. How many times did you see him get completely pwned by a running back......any running back. Basically, if you had a football in your hand and were wearing a pair of cleats you could run around Jones. The only time Jones could make a play was when someone else chased a guy right to where Jones was standing. The guy sucked. Sorry, but dems the facts. So there! :)

I just my opinion, it wasn't directed at anyone in particular. After a loss like that and the reaction to the trade deadline amongst a portion of Met fans, that is how I feel.

    It is me venting.

I used to enjoy being a Met fan and felt we had a special thing, sadly I don't anymore. Its the same crap as the Yankee fans. Quite frankly it sucks moose balls.

Perhaps I need to get away from the various outlets for fans. But I can't get enough Mets baseball, I am feed up with the new breed of fan. Not anyone in here.

My mistake, then. I haven't listened to WFAN lately, but I did read some of the comments on MetsBlog, and it seems that a lot of Mets fans are being complete bitches about the trade deadline, but it's not worth it with them.

On edit: And I don't the Mets fanbase is possible of degenerating to the Yankee fan base. :)

Fair point. I was sure something good was going to happen there....and the Brewers did bunt three times and failed to score from the ninth inning on, or something like that. Very frustrating loss. If that guy hadn't have killed his family over Saturdays game, he would have done it over last nights game for sure. Any way you slice it, he was gonna kill someone.

I'm moody when it comes to the Mets, and superstitious. I'm convinced they haven't done as well because it's been a long time since I've watched a game from start to finish. I'm just so busy lately with basketball and baseball and a ton of other crap me and my friends do. I'm planning on taking a vacation from life in a few days, so then I'm gonna try to dedicate my life to the Mets.

    Why isn't Milledge starting tonight?
    Marlon Anderson? c'mon

also, last nights loss was Willie's fault. Not bunting Alou with 2 on and nobody out in a low scoring extra-innings game is just dumb.

Willie had gambled earlier by not intentionally walking Braun to set up a double play (Braun's run didn't matter in a walkoff scenario) and got lucky, but by betting on a guy who just spent the past 3 months on the DL to get a clutch game-winning hit, I feel that Willie really had a brainfart. But then again, he is the same manager who gave Julio Franco so many big at-bats

but to reiterate my first point, Where is Milledge tonight?

Braves scored 7 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning (Texeira walked with the bases loaded to drive in a run). The Mets better get their asses in gear.

Interesting to hear Gary so explicitly saying that the decision to play an outfield of Alou, Anderson, and Green with Perez pitching is insane.

Can't blame Willie for Perez throwing away the easy DP ball. This could be a very long game.
