Probably not a big deal, but the official website said that Ced left the team for personal reasons. Kind of strange a day before camp for someone fighting for the second running back spot, but hope eveything is ok.

I happen to care. I've met this kid. He is as hard working and diligent a team player any fan could ever ask for. He is to be admired, as opposed to some Jets fans who are dillweeds. Could be anything... a death in the family, another issue that is no fault of his own.... if he left camp, there is a very good reason for it. I hope it's something that turns out to be some sort of false alarm. Fine if one doesn't like a player's talent set, but Houston is a trophy case Jet as far as everything else goes. There are Jets who do deserve critisism, like Kendall, and tons of other NFL players who rightfully should be critisised or ridiculed.... Houston isn't one of them. Speak for yourself, DB.

Hope everything is okay. It's not often good when a guy leaves for personal reasons, especially on the eve of the start of camp.

I'm not worried about his job status. I'm concerned with him as a person. He's got a spot on this team, whenever he gets back. We need a backup for the Jones/Washington tandem, so he's got a spot. I just hate to see a guy leave for "personal reasons." That's always bad news.

Okay this is in poor taste but I couldn't help it . . .

If his family members start going missing, can we expect bibles next to them, too?

Seriously, though, I hope he comes back soon.

I remember coming into the league he had a thyroid problem that they thought they had under control. I hope it is not related to that.

When you run a community your number 3 rb becomes alot more important. If either of those guys get injured cedric will be expect to pick up the slack. I think he makes a very good back up for both guys

While some here are saying he is taking time off, I'm curious how they know that. The only thing I can find is the jets saying he "has left the TEAM for personal reasons". They did not say "left CAMP", they said "left the TEAM". PR departments are usually pretty careful with language in press releases, but to me this is ambiguous and could be interpreted either way.

To those who offered an opinion, I'm curious how you reached that conclusion. Did you read something about it or are you just assuming he's taking a little time to take care of a personal issue?

I've always liked Houston, so I hope he is OK personally, and is planning to be in camp to compete.
