Jets | Missant signed Mon, 2 Jul 2007 15:27:13 -0700 The New York Jets have announced they have signed street free-agent C Charles Missant. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. From KFFL: Kapinos is a punter from Penn State, booming leg. I don't know where he fits in with Graham. Kapinos has kicked off on occasion, touchbacks are likely. Missant is a name we've heard before. Strictly NFL Europe experience, positive things have been said about him. Hopefully, OL Coach Tony Wise can turn him into a bonafide, versatile member of the depth chart.
Kapinos most likely was signed for a look and to keep Graham from burning out his leg during training camp. Also, considering Graham's age, it's not a bad idea to keep an eye on potentially future talent.
Maybe Kapino will beat out BG then we can trade BG for a draft choice since BG is one of the players on the team with some trade value
Even if he has trade value, most teams wouldn't part with anything more than a 6th or 7th rounder for a punter, no matter how good.
champ wants us to get rid of all of the good players on the team so we'll continue to suck so he can keep bitching about the team. He's afraid of us actually becoming successful.
Let's break this down. There is technically nothing anti-jets in this statement but the wording coupled with champs image on here is causing you guys to jump on him. If Kapino beats out BG, that would make him a better punter right? So then we could trade BG who is an older player and get some value in next years draft for a younger player. *** Disclaimer *** The following is all opinion, none of which is fact. I believe this is what champ is saying. I also believe his wording is done purposely to get a rise out of people that aren't paying close attention. Trade Graham? Most Jets fans like graham more than punters usually get love. Champ is playing on his belief that a lot of us can't see through our "man love" for players when we should be looking at the good of the team. seems to imply that not many have trade value but doesn't specifically state that. Again, at first glance this sounds anti-jet but technically it is not. This is just CJ using his image to get a rise out of people.
I think you reflected what I said pretty well except for the rise stuff which is not correct. If we better the team then we improved ourselves right? Also we got BG for nothing so if we can now get a better punter & I think BG has some value we can turn something from nothing
I grasped it just fine. He just has a little more faith in you than I do. I see right through your BS.
