Did anyone see his return to Seattle, man do I wish he was enver injured all these years in Cincinnati
Yeah I know he was fun to watch. But now we have Pujols and Howard and Arod. But hes still a decent player on the border of good .
Oh man I was there and it was GREAT The video was touching and he got like a 10 minute standing ovation that was the loudest noise I have ever heard:beer:
yea... but the aint the same as griffey, I loved Griffey when I was a little kid which one of those guys have a nicer swing, and made catches like Griffey in the OF, I kno Howard dosent.
the early years in seattle with griffey and a-rod together were awesome. never been anything close to it since.
I say it EVERY SINGLE TIME I talk about Ken Griffey Jr. , whether it's on the internet or not. If he was healthy all of these years, there's no doubt in my mind that I think he would be where Bonds currently is, going after Aaron's record. But we'll never know.
well, of course. that's not saying anything. Everyone thought Griffey would be the one, because if he hadn't repeatedly gotten injured or suddenly forgotten how to hit, there's no question he would've been over 700 by now.
49, 56, 56, 48. those were his homer totals his last 4 years in seattle. Average of over 52 a year. From 2000-2006, if he had averaged 50 a year, that's 350 homers. Instead, he had 165. That's a difference of 185 homers. If he had those 185 homers, he'd have passed Aaron earlies this season and he'd be just padding his lead
Oh man that was great:rofl: Some of my favorites: The team also balked at Griffey's demand that the fences be moved in, but eventually compromised by moving home plate out The Mariners flat-out refused to play their home games in Orlando, but were able to appease their superstar by renaming themselves the Orlando Mariners of Seattle He won Game 7 of the 2003 World Series with a three-run walk-off homer when the late Steve Bartman leaned over the outfield fence and kept Cubs outfielder Moises Alou from catching what could have been a game-ending flyout
This, too, is ironic considering that Bonds has never tested positive for a performance enhancer while Griffey's home run production soared after he took a mysterious "nerve tonic" that also caused his head to swell with "Gigantism" before a company softball game in 1992. Money Simpsons reference is money.
Tied and passed McGwire for 7th All Time on the HR list. Congrats to Griffey Jr.. Must feel GREAT to do it on the same day.
If you even just average him out to have had averaged 35 HR's a year during the years he was injured he would have had an extra 105 HR's. I also read somewhere that he would welcome a trade to Chicago which would put him back with Lou Pinella.
