He had a good season last year ( comeback player of the year) even though he couldn't make all the throws. He is now saying that he can make all the throws. Now, he should have a better season for two reasons: he is healthier and he knows the system better.
i think chad's stats will go up more from having jones in the backfield. chad is never gonna have a cannon but jones gives us the play action which will buy chad some time. i wanna see him take care of the ball better this year though no more double digit ints, and picks in the red zone.
Well since we did not win the SB how can you say he had a successful season? Awards & championships are like nite & day.
Better tell that to Goodall as I am sure he is unaware of what U posted. Are we presently 0-38 & some months & counting when it comes to winning championships so that becomes a FACT not a stat which is reflected by being losers for the last 38 years. Hope you can handle that FACT no matter how hard it is to admit it
I think Chad can build his arm strength with weights. A guy with arm strength can't seem to improve accuracy and touch. Think Browning Nagle. What's kept Chad from building arm strength was the injuries. Now that he's healthy, and has been for a year, I'll bet you see some more zip on those tough outs and over the middle throws
Hahaha, are you kidding me? The average Jets fan on this board probably knows just as much about the on-field Chad Pennington as either of those 2 ESPN Radio hosts, if not more. Leadership, accuracy, knowledge. Everybody here knows about that. Have known about it since 2002. We're the people that have been sitting here watching every detail of the Jets fervently while ESPN Radio hosts cover the entire league and all other American sports. And the only details of any of it that matter are the ones that happen on the field during the season. Chad started last season amid rumors of judo or karate training and a new and improved throwing motion. That resulted in a few surprising games early in the season, and then the good passes were few and far between and Lil Schott started game-planning around Chad's deficiencies. Accuracy means nothing without velocity. Knowledge and leadership are great if you can get the other aspects of your job done well, but he wasn't doing that a lot last season.
That to me is a player stat that has no meaning whatsoever beyond CM & his career in the NFL. Where as not winning a CHAMPIONSHIP in 38 years is a historical fact which makes us known as losers with other then NYJ fans & the media so it has far, far more impact then CM stat that U mentioned. That is what I see as the difference
As Jet fans we are all alittle negative, which no doubt comes from Champ's 0-38 FACT, the heartbreaks, the poor draft picks over the years, etc... But Jesus Christ does he get hard to listen to. It's absurd to say a player cannot have a sucessful year without a championship.
Taken from dictionary.com...interesting: sta?tis?tic [stuh-tis-tik] –noun Statistics. a numerical fact or datum, esp. one computed from a sample.
Yep that is what the season is played for if you do not win the CHAMPIONSHIP your season was unsuccessful since the goal of every team when the season starts is to win the SB so if you end up less then CHAMPs you did not acheive your goal for the season right?
Yep because everyone KNOWS that the NYJs are 0-38 in winning a CHAMPIONSHIP whereas outside of NYJ fans nobody cares about NYJ player stats
Exactly. You think people would play a game where they draft NFL players and follow their stats all year. Ha Ha. No one would be interested in that. Wait...guitar bands? Ha Ha. They'll never be popular.
