D Wright picks it up. 2-0, and only Green didn't hit it hard so far.

Pulling the infield in for Wright was idiotic.

Someone inform Wright that a true Mets cleanup hitter is supposed to K with a runner on 3rd and less then 2 outs.

Although I love what Minaya's done for the most part, I personally he overvalues strikeouts way too much based on some quotes and directions in free agency.

    Nice start BTW.

Most middle of the order guys stike out alot. Wright/Delgado/Beltran strike out 100+ times a year. Sure Dunn strikes out even more then that but I think the low BA would be more of an obstacle to people of a small ball persuasion.

Delgado has picked it up? How? With a few extra base hits? It was painful to watch him struggle through the Detroit series.

Carlos Delgado has zero hits in his last 8 ABs. I would feel more comfortable with Dunn there. Could be kinda costly, though.

I could do without yet another "good old days" lecture from the ex player. This whole conversation is pretty ridiculous, who cares if Glavine's feelings are hurt because the entire roster isn't ready to slit their wrists after he loses a game.

He started backing off it a bit, but then seemed to think that it was a good thing that when Carney Lansford was having a hissy fit no one else on the A's was able to eat after the game. I think Ron should let Keith be the designated Neanderthal on this broadcasting team.

He's on pace for 27 HR and 104 RBI. That's not too shabby. And he hit a homer in the Detroit series, by the way. I know his average is abysmal, and his OBP is, somehow, below .300, but he's a great player. This is a fluke.

I'm not accusing you, or anyone on this board, but I don't think we should crucify anyone who's had a rough 60 games. Jorge Sosa isn't this good, and Carlos Delgado isn't this bad.

When you have an OPS+ of 92 this deep into the season, one has to wonder if it's really just a fluke or if age is finally catching up with the guy.

I think even more then the lack of power, the fact that Delgado, who has been an elite OBP guy for most of his career has an OBP under .300. As we've started to see recently he is hitting for more power but such a steep decline in his OBP suggests that he may have lost his strike zone judgement.
