Reds? Cardinals you meant, right? The 1986 team did not have Joaquin Andujar and they did not really replace him. John Tudor was still good, but he was no longer brilliant like he was in 1985. Cox was also down. The 1988 team sucked due to injuries particularly to their pitching, if I recall correctly. By the way, I like the stolen base.
We tend to put our bats to sleep collectively, that's what I've noticed. When one key slumps it seems all the others slump too.
well he did help the team when he had the .300 OBP which is why he scored nearly 100 runs even with the low OBP, what the higher OBP did was give us a more consistent spark at the top of the lineup
If this doesn't get too out of hand, Six-Fingers will pitch the bottom of the inning. He has an ERA close to 5.00 all-time against the Mets.
this has actually been a very frustrating season. I don't care how many offensive categories the team leads, it consistently gets shut down by bad pitching other teams have shelled.
Well, the offense isn't as good as the 1999 one, but at least the 2007 team loses by fewer runs to the Braves. So we've got that going for us, which is nice.
If this is "frustrating" I'll take it every time. Tough loss, move on and take the next 2. Pedro gets a pass, he has been great.
