Italians share lineage with all kinds of people, a lot like Americans do.

Saying we "refuse to believe" something implies that we are in some way embarassed by it.

i said most because I have heard remarks by some italians. and was curious as to what kind of response i would get. and with moulin yan being a catch phrase its not like im coming totally out of left field.

trust me im curious, not ignorant

didnt mean to slight italians in anyway. if i did i apologize

It was a very nice cameo. I agree, it wasn't forced and didn't feel out of place at all. As if we didn't already know...it seems like Mangini has been more than embraced around the area, he is loved.

Nah, Bro, no need. There are some rockheads of all nationalities, but most of what goes on around here (NY area) is all in fun. My friends break my balls all the time about the scene from True Romance where the guy gives his theory on Italians and blacks. I'm just saying probably 95% of us realize that civilizaton didn't start in Italy.

My dad looked too into the whole cameo and said "Why would Mangini know who Tony Soprano is?"

Not James Gandolfini, but actually Tony Soprano.

Edit: Who just had on ESPN News and saw DJ Galo speaking about the "Final Episode of the Sopranos"?

    Hilarious

Belichick Was Hoping To See Mangini Garroted During Sopranos Cameo

FOXBORO, MA--Patriots coach Bill Belichick said he enjoyed seeing Eric Mangini?s brief cameo on The Sopranos on Sunday night, but said it would have been more exciting if the Jets coach was garroted by one of Tony?s wise guys while he was eating dinner.
?It?s a great show and I did get a kick out of seeing Eric make an appearance,? Belichick told the Boston Herald today. ?But I personally think it would have been more exciting if one of Tony?s guys ? maybe Paulie or something ? came up behind him and wrapped a garrote around his neck while he was eating dinner, killing him on the spot. It sure would have been funny to see his face plop down into his bowl of spaghetti. Hopefully they?re just setting it up for next week when they?ll mow him down in a hail of bullets while he's coming out of the restaurant.?

What an odd set of statements coming from Belichick. What is he trying to do now by injecting what he considers humor, come across as Mr. Personality? Tony and Paulie need to pay him a visit in his office up at Foxboro and have a little "discussion" with him.

I don't think Belichick really said that stuff, dewd. Did you click on the link and read some of the other stories? One of em said......."Blazers may select Chinese guy instead of Oden just to F with everybody".
