Mota has been activated and Burgos sent down. I guess the Mets REALLY wanted to keep that 3rd lefty in their pen.
They don't really have three lefties in the pen, since one of them is Wagner. Since he's the closer, he isn't used situationally, which basically takes him out of that equation.
Don't be obtuse. In 19 of Schoenweis 23 appearances he's faced 3 or more batters. During the regular season there's really no need for a "lefty specialist" when you've got 2 good lefties for the late innings. Righties are OPSing 1.215 off him this year so he's a wasted roster spot at best or free runs for the opposition at worst when you're forced to use him. The only reasoning I can see behind this move is that they want to get Burgos some more consistent work in the minors then he would get with the big club, because he's clearly a better choice.

Poor, foolish, Horace Stoneham - things just never worked out for him. His was the team that really needed to leave New York, yet he allowed himself to be duped by Walter O'Malley into abandoning Minneapolis (where he wanted to move the Giants) for San Francisco, while O'Malley got the riches of LA. He had a team with five future Hall of Famers, including the greatest player of (at least) the past 50 years, and all they could win was one league pennant.
I remembered today. It was Mike Stanton in his first appearance for the Nationals. On July 15, 2005 Stanton balked in the winning run in the 10th inning against the Brewers at Miller Park. I knew it was some asshole.
