bump for 12.5 games out of 1st place in AL East.

for sake of comparison, Washington Nationals are 12 games out of 1st place in NL East.

in 1965 the Yankees were 8 games back at the same point in the season.
in 1982 the Yankees were 6 games back at the same point in the season.

It's so cute how met fans care more about the yankees losing than about their own team. Just enjoy your success, we didn't have running threads on the Mets battles for last place while the Yanks were winning divs, AL pennants and WS over the last decade +.

This thread isint about Mets fans caring more or less about the Mets then the Yankees.

It's about comparing the 2007 Yankee team to the 1965/1982 one. Do you have anything to contribute on that subject?

I remember the same comparisons 2 years ago and last year so basivcally it was the next year we didn't make the playoffs it would be 1965 or 1982? It's wishful thinking from Met fans thinking we are done for the next 10+ years. You guys worry too much about us, we suck right now you don't need to worry about us. Enjoy your season of being a contender. I never worried about the Mets while we were winning except in '00 when we played just like I neer thought about the Sox except when we played them but the anti-yankee fans care more about the Yanks than their team- at least they spend more time talking about the Yanks.

The Yankees need to resign Henry Cotto, jessie Barfield and Bye Bye Balboni! THey have the 'veteran' presence this club needs! It's not over yet! First we overtake the devil rays! Then the world!!!!!!!!!

The Yankees are currently 11 games out of 1st place in the AL East. 3 games under .500.

In 1965 the Yankees were 9 games back at the same point in the season. 2 games under .500.
In 1982 the Yankees were 9.5 games back at the same point in the season. 4 games under .500.
In 1978 the Yankees were 9 games back at the same point in the season. 11 games over .500.

When we make the postseason I want to hear all these Mets fans thoughts (yeah I said it) and I will watch you guys hide under a rock the same way you do every year. You sang the Our Team Our Time BS last year then Yadier n the Cards ripped your hearts out, its something every year. I bet you I could get more Mets fans to tell me the Yanks record then your own.

I won't though...Because David honestly makes me laugh and still see that the jealousy is still there.

His "team" is in 1st place by 6 games? And he comments more on Roger Clemens and in the Yankees Game Threads than he does his Mets!

And that puts icing on the cake...That their is still at least one Mets fan who is still jealous of a bad team when their team is in 1st place and up against their rival...

In the end...David is just a little pawn, and it's hilarious watching him.

That's all very true. And the reason is probably because he knows that no matter how far out in front the Mets are now, thye always find a way to screw it up. I could start my own thread

Are the 2007 Mets the 1987-2006 Mets?
