Yeah, strangely, at the position that ages you the quickest, he's playing younger. The contract year probably doesn't hurt, but he did improve a lot last year too, at least defensively. His offense this year has been sick though.
His problem has been homers and walks. He was doing a good job limiting homers and walks. Today, it's been all homers and walks (and an unlucky bloop). He's certainly not a god, but he'll be a keeper.

I'm not mailing it in, but seeing Maine continue to walk guys and give up homers is a bad sign. The only encouraging thing is that if that bloop doesn't fall in then it's still 1-1. Doesn't make this any less painful to watch thus far, when we can't hit a damn rook. BTW, has anyone else noticed how inconsistent the strike zone's been all game on both sides?
