Interesting to see how the weather holds up throughout this series. Rain scheduled for tomorrow and saturday. Possible double dip on sunday
I don't know, you may be able to tell a LOT after the next 6 games. With the Red Sox sweeping a doubleheader today and a Yankee loss earlier, the Sox now lead the division by 9 1/2 games and very much look like the best team in baseball. If the Yankees lose a game in the standings over the Mets series, then lose 2 of 3 to the Sox, that would leave them 11 1/2 games out of first with 9 games left against the Sox. That means to win the division they would have to be at least 3 games better than the Sox, AND sweep the remaining games. With the state of the pitching staffs, anyone would have to admit that the Yankees are far more likely to suffer prolonged losing streaks. On the other hand, if they pick up a game or two during the Met series and take 2 of 3 from the Sox, they're just 6 or so games back, and things could look very different. the next 6 games are huge for the Yankees.
Yeah, there is always 78s 14 game comeback, but that aint gonna happen this time. I agree with your post.
Let's try and keep this thread relatively clean boys. I get a kick out of some of the back and forth but things can turn pretty ugly in game threads. There's obviously going to be some cheap shots but if people can ignore those it shouldn't escalate.
Good post...Use the GYC thread, the 1986 thread, or the TT forum for any bs stuff. Let's try to keep this thread civil.
Agreed. I'll do my part to ignore any cheap shots made during the series. Besides, this is probably going to be a lot more fun for one of the sides of the fence without cheap shots anyway. Here's to an injury-free series guys!
2 game suspension in the game thread for anyone throwing a cheap shot. anyone joining in because of the cheap shot who was not part of the original altercation gets a 1 game suspension.

Yeah, it seemed like it was about to rain all day but now the weather says things should clear up around game time. Go Mets!
Perez off to a lousy start, but we've seen him look bad initially and bounce back before. At least he didn't give up any runs.
